I got this because my 19 recently left for college and was looking for a new craft to do in the evenings to take the place of family games and TV time with her siblings.She used to love making friendship bracelets and sharing them so I thought this would be an upgrade on an old hobby and I purchased this bead set for a Christmas gift.She wasn't expecting it at all and didn't seem overly excited at first. She looked up some basic instructions and ideas later on Christmas day and started creating some jewelry. She's found that she enjoys it and has made quite a few nice pieces since then. I'm confident she will continue this hobby for some time to come.

This kit contains materials for making several sets of coordinating bracelets and necklaces, including spacer beads and end beads that conceal the knot at the end of the stretchy cord that is also included. The set has standard colors and some interesting earth tones as well, and some that have mixed colors. The kit can make several sets of coordinating necklaces and bracelets, including some plastic beads that have letters on them. These can be used for ages tween through adult, with the kids making stretchy bracelets with their names on them, and the adults making grown-up bracelets with lobster claw clasps and hanging beads with an ocean theme. There are not enough beads of any one color to make a single necklace, but you can create a unique blend of colors and make a necklace or several bracelets. There are very few earring findings, so don't expect a lot of full sets of jewelry. Although it's not necessary, it would be useful to have a tool set for jewelry making to help open and close the jump rings, to save your fingernails. This would be a nice addition to jewelry making supplies, or as a gift for ages tween and older, and hopefully they will have a jump ring tool or two jewelry pliers.
