Very retro
At under twenty pounds at the time of writing this is amazing value as there are several hundred games to choose from.Yes it has some flaws but overall it is exceptional value.I have not connected it to the TV, which you can, but it has a good enough battery life which charges quite quickly, and then gives you around six to seven hours play time. The nine year old really enjoys this.Finding games is a little annoying as there is a lot of scrolling.

Ordered two - one was faulty
We ordered two for Christmas stockings. One works fine. The other, third time switching on the screen would fade to dark. Charging did not rectify. Received immediate refund and ordered another because the kids loved playing retro Mario and donkey kong.

100% disappointed.
Admitting that I should have known better. China. Manufacturing cost probably 5 cents. Plus shipping. Buttons are loose/response FSR from acceptable. Display resolution is a joke. Haptic is disgusting. Returned immediately. Do not buy. You are better off with two sticks …

It's Fun For About 10 Minutes
The media could not be loaded. First impressions are good, it looks like a Gameboy, it has a power switch, it's rechargeable, there's a volume dial on the side and has an AV output so you can play through a TV screen.Included in the box is the console, charging cable, AV cable, battery and manual. When first powering on you can select Chinese or English languages but I found some of the games will appear in Chinese anyway which is a downside, the screen is backlit which is good and provides a nice even illumination but there isn't a way to increase or decrease, to exit a game you have to press the reset button to get back to the games list which can be a little annoying. The speaker on the device is good and sounds like you'd expect, I have noticed that the sound effects like selecting interrupts the music playing which is a little odd. With these types of consoles most of the games are actually just different level starting points of the same game, so you don't actually get 400 individual games but more of a level selector for multiple games, it's still a fun emulator to play some classic retro games though and feels like a decent product.I noticed that when I got to the 313th game, it actually just repeats the list of games again until it gets to 400 so those remaining 87 games are just the same as the games from 1 to 87 😅 technically you only get 313 games/levels on the device 🤷🏻♂️I was really hoping that Pokémon would be on this but seeing as you can't save your progress in ANY game, it'd be wasted anyway. There isn't a UI system on the device that lets do anything else other than play the installed games in their set state so if you play Mario and get to World 2 for example, you can't save progress or decide to play something else and come back to your previous game point. The battery life is probably pretty good but I haven't played it for long, not being able to save progress bores me.Due to the very limited progress of the games you actually play on this, I'll probably give it 2 stars. Who actually wants to be forced to replay a game from the beginning every single time? I know I don't. It's a fun device for some Tetris, Galaga and retro nostalgia but it is lacking in everything you'd get with an actual Gameboy...I'd recommend either finding a really good emulator with save functions or just pay the premium for an original Gameboy Colour which has been modded with an LED screen and has a fresh circuit board installed 👍🏻
