NOW my trim function works
The trim function can the older 6800 system was a bit sketchy due to the angle of the cable pull. The angle of the seat post either made it a little worse or a little better but best case it was finicky. The 8000 series allows for a straight cable pull, eliminates barrel adjuster and makes setup a snap. Now, my trim function works as it was designed. I am using the 8000 front derailleur with the complete 6800 groupo so there is no reason to change out anything else unless you want to. One word to note, you do need to remove teh chain to install the derailleur and the old cable tag my be just a tad short for the new routing but that is cosmetic. The new cable tag, after it is secured, fits into a cap.

Smooth shifting
Shimano excellence as usual. This front derailleur replaced a 35 year old Dura Ace that served well. I was surprised at how smoothly it shifted and hasn’t missed a shift using it 200km per week.

Perfect shifting
This thing is as light as a feather and shifts gears reliably, smoothly and was a game changer when I replaced a (bad) stock Claris front mech with it. There's honestly very little difference between this and a 105 mech but this one is even lighter, for those precious marginal gains ;)I can't think of anything bad to say about it, grab it if you can afford it! Otherwise go with a 105 as it's almost just as nice.

Worth it!
Replaced my 105s with Ultegra front and rear derailleurs. While the 105s are great, there is a difference - especially in the crispness of the shifts. Definitely an improvement and step-up and worth the price differential.
