Dropped once caused a leak

I SPECIFICALLY chose this titanium bottle because it is listed as being made in JAPAN, which is NOT true. Obviously it's made in China (and the price also sort of suggests that).Also, I am not a fan of the "matte" finish and suspected it was an surface finish to hide the material underneath (which I suspected to be aluminum). I spent about 10 minutes sanding the bottom with sandpaper and the material is the same color, so this is probably titanium and not aluminum. I was suspicious because I own several REAL titanium items (from my trusty MSR cup to motorcycle exhausts) and they are always a brighter/lighter color (see picture of this bottle and my MSR cup side by side).For $30 this is a decent water bottle, but I would not have purchased it if I had know it is Chinesian and not Japanese made.Update: I sanded the water bottle and then heated it with a torch for a few minutes. Apparently it's real titanium and it turned out very nicely.

日本酒やワインなどの保存と持ち運びに使っています。ステンレスボトルに入れいたウイスキーが変色してしまった経験から、チタンの本製品を入手し使い始めました。1年間、色々なお酒を入れて使っていますが思った通り全く劣化がありません。ワインの飲み残しを冷蔵庫で保管する、アウトドアに日本酒を持っていく、手作りしたドレッシングを保存するなど、色々な場面で便利に使えます。製品自体の質ですが、こちらも★５です。必要十分な強度と旁の良さを兼ね備えています。カバンごと高さ２ｍから落とした際に若干の凹みはつきましたがそれもまた長く使ってる間の味。擦り傷や若干の凹みはつきますが普通の使い方では問題ありません。チタンマニア製品はこの商品以外にフラスコも使っていますが、こちらのボトルマグは使える場面が多いのでもう一つ購入しようと思ってます。

日本酒を入れてソロキャン行きます。400ml入るので満足してます。

登山で荒っぽい扱い方をしてます。チタンなのでとにかく軽い！めちゃくちゃ軽いです。落としたら底が凹みました。あまり強度は無いように感じます。バルブを開け閉めするときに嫌な金属音がします。熱を通すので熱い飲み物はカバーに入れてから注ぎましょう。持てなくなります。カバーに付いてるストラップの耐久性がほぼなかったです。１回の登山でほつれてきてます。それでもこの軽さは他になく使い続けてます。バルブ開け閉め時の嫌な金属音とカバーのストラップの弱さがなんとかなれば逸品だと思います。

底面にシリコンゴムが滑り止めとして有るので、直火にかけられないと思ったら、シリコンゴムは取り外せました。水漏れも無いので、直火も可能です。
