Excellent book that is changing people's lives.
I started reading Food Sanity to complement my studies in a nutrition program. I never imagined that this book would direct me towards making simple, everyday changes that supported me in becoming even healthier, reduce pain, inflammation, improve energy level, becoming a wiser consumer. This book is very well organized, pleasant to read without heavy medical jargon. I enjoyed listening to every chapter in the audio book as Dr. Friedman has a warm sense of humor. I have a hard copy I keep as a reference as well so I can share the information with others. Dr. Friedman did an amazing work, over six years of sound research and brings to light much needed information to the public about the many issues affecting the quality of the food available to us. You will learn about the food industry and pharmaceuticals behind food research, media, even regulatory agencies affecting the choices we make. How do we end up with foods and products that contain harmful substances right in our pantries and bodies? He further explores the different trends in weight loss diets and offers more natural, sustainable weight loss alternatives, and simple, common sense ways to achieving optimal health. You will learn everything about dairy, meats, fish, vitamins, plants, environment and information that will surprise and inspire you. The reading will certainly guide anyone’s efforts to become healthier. It gives that nudge we all need to take small steps on making better choices. Ultimately you will decide what is reasonable for your goals and unique needs, because you will learn so much. Food Sanity won first place in Health category, at the Author Academy Awards in 2019. Simply put, the best book on food and health. I am very grateful for Dr. Friedman’s relentless work.

Read This Book!
I’ve never submitted a review with more enthusiasm than this one. Food Sanity is the most significant nutritional expose and guidebook I’ve read in years! If you’re sick and tired of reading conflicting research and opinions, read Food Sanity. I’ve informally studied this area for years and find Dr. Friedman is the real deal. It’s also evident that his passion for getting this vital information out to the world springs from a huge heart, genuine love for people and indignation at those who would dupe us all for their profit - and to our detriment. If the government and the medical industry cared anything for public health, they would make a copy of Food Sanity available to everyone. Our body is THE primary vehicle for everything else we accomplish in life – and it’s the only vehicle we can’t trade in for a new one. If we were to fill up the gas tank in our car, then find out the fuel was tainted with sugar, and other chemicals that inhibited our automobile’s performance and would eventually destroy the engine, we’d be furious. At the very least, we would avoid this gas station like the plague. We’d warn friends and loved ones. Yet, every day we continue to fuel our body with toxic food that inhibits its ability to function. We consume substances that damage our organs and lead to an early demise. Schools shove it down kid’s throats. Hospitals sell it in vending machines. Governments subsidize it. Food Sanity is identifies the high quality fuel we’re supposed to be putting into our body. Dr. Friedman busts through all the food myths, exposes the profits and propaganda and brings back to the table some much-needed sanity!

Food Sanity should be renamed the FOOD BIBLE!
Food Sanity should be renamed the FOOD BIBLE! I’ve read all the “eat this, not that” and “mix this with that” books and while some do initially help me lose weight, it always comes right back. Dr. Friedman explains why and shares the two missing links that no other book on food and diet offers. But this book goes far beyond just food and diet. Dr. Friedman shares how to improve your way of living between meals. In the last chapter, The Millionaire Within, he shares how much the human body is actually worth. According to medical research, if you added up the street value of our lung, heart, liver, kidneys, DNA, etc., the human body is worth $45 Million Dollars! Yet most people take better care of their $18K car. For the first time in my life I feel valuable, and knowing my net worth makes me want to take better care of my multimillion dollar body.The chapter on how vitamin supplements are created and their associated health risks was a real eye opener for me. I can’t say enough about Food Sanity. This one book can replace all the health and diet books I’ve ever purchased, hence my reference to it being the FOOD BIBLE. I will be getting the audiobook too so I can listen to this valuable information during my long commutes to work each day. If you’re sick of buying conflicting books on diet, nutrition and weight loss, this FOOD BIBLE will be the last purchase you’ll ever need to make.

One bit of information may be worth the price of the book.
I bought the book hopefully to find out if I'm eating anything that I shouldn't be eating or not eating anything that I should be eating. Page 258 and 259 gives a complete list of both. The only thing on either list that I didn't know about and had never even heard of was wheatgrass. I googled it and several nutritionists say it is a very healthy superfood. So even if I never read the rest of the book, which doesn't seem necessary for my purpose, that information in itself may be worth the price.

Thank you Doctor Friedman! It hasn't been quite 3 months since I heard you on a podcast, bought your book, and started eating better. I'm 41, work out 3 times a week, and thought I was doing ok honestly. I have since experienced renewed energy like I can't explain to most. Lost 18 pounds, which was never expected....I thought I had 5 to lose. My brain is functioning, and learning like it hasn't in years. That being said I am spreading the word like fire. Since about day 7 when the good foods kicked in, I'm spreading your word. I don't say that for a pat on the back, it's the least I can do for those I love and acquaintances I care about. Thank you! Life changing! Anyway I send people links, I give a quick run down, and try to get people to convert to eating better if they show interest. I've got a long way to go, but I can't thank you enough for how I feel now. Thanks again Doc!

A Manual of Wisdom about Food and Health
Dr David Friedman’s book, “Food Sanity” is an outstanding manual. This manual is full of wisdom about the food that we are eating and how we can become even more healthy than we currently are. It contains many secrets for a long and healthy life.Over the years, I have tried a number of different diets and they all worked for a time. Dr David Friedman acknowledges that all diets work! However, I was often unaware of the additional damage that some of the diets that I followed, had caused in my body. The limitations of several fad diets are outlined in this book.Dr David Friedman gives his expert advice and wisdom about the foods which we should and should not eat. Some of his research findings are innovative (e.g. the facts about cavemen, the amount of mercury in fish and the fact that pigs don’t sweat).I really enjoyed reading the true stories about Dr David Friedman’s clients and about his own fascinating experiences on his own health journey. I love Dr David Friedman’s honesty. He is not afraid to challenge the status quo (e.g. with his references to “Big Pharma” etc.).The wisdom and the well-researched insights in this book have been life-changing for me. After reading this book, I have reduced my sugar and my salt intake and I have made other changes to my diet and to my life. I now eat better food and I sleep better. I have removed obesogens and other toxins from my life. The result is that I now feel full of life and full of energy each day!If you will put into practice the recommendations and ideas in this book, as I have done, you too will experience a positive transformation in your health. I therefore have no hesitation in recommending this book to anyone, who has concerns about their diet and their health, or to anyone, who wants to feel more energised and full of life.

A must-read for anyone wanting to improve their health
I read this book in one sitting and was beyond impressed with the information that Dr. Friedman presents in such a clear (and entertaining) way!!! The world of food and nutrition has become confusing and complicated but this book sheds light on some of the most important topics we, as consumers, need to be aware of. If you're wanting to improve your health in any way, I highly recommend this book. I loved it.

Dieting in an easier way
I was at my friends place who had the book as paperback version. He showed me some interssting tips how to eat healthier which never came into my mind. The next day I bought it for my kindle and i don't have any regrets. This book doesn't give you the "youtube tricks" how to lose fat that comes back after a week. In this book you get foodtips that are for the longrun.

A well written book, dispelling old ingrained myths and beliefs about what we need to putinto our bodies.Very readable and comprehensible.Good advice for good health.
