Leibniz: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)

A Useful Book
Leibniz is a key figure in both philosophy and the sciences. His philosophical output was non-systematic and scattered making it difficult for the interested reader to understand his contributions.A professional scholar of Leibniz, Dr. Maria Rosa Antognazza, situates Leibniz in his time, explains his place between Descartes and Kant and expostulates his metaphysical theory as best as it can now be understood. I got the sense that she deliberately interpreted Leibniz in a modern light but I am not at all an expert. In fact, I came to this book with the simple desire to understand somethings about the author of the enigmatic Monads and came away satisfied by the purchase. Recommended to all with an interest in early modern philosophy.
