Petlife Safebed Paper Flakes Small Animal Bedding Carry Home for Small Pet

It seems quite difficult to find paper based bedding on line. This isn't quite, it's a thin form of the striped cloths they sell in the kitchen section. You can tell it's some sort of viscous if you pull it apart because the fibres are visible. However it's NOT like the strands of artificial wool which everyone is dead set against due to a risk of choking and strangling (yuk). Although you can put it in in a big heap it does tend to flatten down rather than making a solid dome to snuggle into. I still haven't found an example of the shredded entangled paper I used to buy.I brought the mother and unexpected pups up on home made shredded paper, with kitchen towel when that ran out. As we had a daily cage clean in the third week (7 hamsters peeing in the same place is not pleasant) I had to dump the bedding nearly everyday, which led to distress. I've read that really you should reuse the bedding for about 3 weeks because the hamster has scented it and feels safe, but I'm not sure that this will do it. It is a reasonably big bag so good value otherwise.UPDATE Down to two hamsters who are constantly moving their bedrooms on a whim. They seem very keen on pouching this material to make cosy nests, so the paws up from them. I'm unwilling to experiment further with other brands, since they are both content.

Its ok but not great, seems to be bits of j-cloth ripped up.. gone back to usual white bedding.

we use for a very elderly hamster bedding mixed with barley straw.she feels the cold now and this is pleasantly snug bedding, combined with the barley straw it keeps her warm and happy for hours re-arranging her home. we do a very deep fill so she has hours of fun moving things around and making various beds and burrows.

My Syrian hamster seems to favour this over tissue, and seems nice and snug in her nest!It's a big bag, so excellent value for money, I will be a repeat customer!

Not great bedding material. Falls too flat too quickly. I was worried by hamsters might not be warm enough. Won;t buy again.

For some reason, I am struggling to be able to buy hamster bedding in local shops. Really pleased to of not only been able to get some but also a much better value size!
