Unfortunately for you, but fortunately for me, I have not yet had to open these up and use them. I cannot comment on the durability or quality of the product. They come in individual sealed packages. I split them up between my two cars to keep in case of an emergency.

We keep these in the car, and also at home in case of power failures during ice storms, when the heat is lost. The poncho is excellent, since heat is lost from the head, first. The two added blankets are also helpful to have on hand. We have one poncho for each of our dogs, and one for each person. We have, of course, plenty of blankets, but these are extremely lightweight.Clearly, they'd be excellent when outdoors, too, in an emergency.

I purchased this to keep in my car for my emergency kit.

What can I say?! This is an awesome product I hope to never use in real life ;-)This package comes with four (4) emergency rain/cold weather ponchos and two (2) blankets. All six are made of the same mylar/foil material. The ponchos, as you can see, are LARGE!!! I'm 5'10" tall and 205 lbs with an athletic build. Plenty of room for you, your jacket AND your backpack underneath them. PLUS they come with a built in hood that's plenty huge enough for your noggin' and whatever beanie/baseball cap covering you're wearing.Material is thick and durable. Not so thick 'n durable that I'd suggest multiple uses, but it did handle me shaking it out, taking it on & off, and folding it back up again without ripping or tearing in any way. And let me tell you, whatever this magic foil stuff is...... IT IS WARM!!! Simple shorts and t-shirt underneath to take the pictures, and after a couple of minutes I was ready to de-robe. No doubts here that this poncho is gonna keep me dry and warm in the event I ever actually need to use it.

This product is just a garbage. I wore it once going The Wave, where was rarely storming that day. I used it with the silver side inside. Unfortunately, the silver coating were just a layer of dyed coating, which was transferred onto my skin and caused significant staining on my backpack. The silver coating was fake Mylar. After used it two times that day, not much silver coating left. This product does not keep warm at all and causes serious concern regarding the quality of the product. Don't buy it! It cannot be used as an emergency blanket.

Bought three packs for a group caming trip. They easily rip and they're definitely not thincker than a regular mylar blanket. The worst thing is the silver part is painted on and it will rub off on your skin and clothes!
