Val Waxman is a film director with his best years behind him. When one day he gets the offer to direct a great movie, he is close to say no to the project which the producer happens to be his ex-wife's current husband. Not a personal choice would categorize as a friend. Given its financial situation guess he ultimately still the offer, but is facing recordings psychosomatic blinded by his growing paranoia, stress and nervousness.
