Its perfect in every way, very clever, and works great... but for what it is and what it's made of it's really expensive.I hope every gram of it is made in Canada...While very sturdy, I'm not too keen on the two little pivot rivets, at this price I'd like to see some quality high-grade (hardened) stainless bolts and washers instead.Usefulness..Unless you're repeatedly cutting large diameter wood in the middle of nowhere (why?) and will be wearing out blades frequently get the Silky Professional 240 instead - The Silky is far easier to pack, half the weight, and performs equally well for various camp sawing, plus the Silky is far more versatile for notching and bushcrafty stuff.In short, I think the Boreal's capabilities and price exceed its purpose... if you're building a shelter or small log cabin deep in the woods this is what you need, but why not just use a standard (longer) $35 rigid bow saw instead? Maybe even leave it there when done.Either way, its not something I'd attach to a backpack...I guess it'd be ok on a horse or atv? Trail clearing? Still the Silky is quicker/easier to use on the offending limb.One big advantage is the Boreal uses cheap blades and the sheath can carry several.. so that's a huge win really.

The case is exceptionally well made. This saw and case is heirloom quality. No joke, my son will use this when I’m gone. Saw rips through hardwoods with little effor. There is a minor hotspot on my hand when really cranking on it. But to me, that’s nothing. If you hike, camp, spend time outdoors or need a badass saw, get this and you won’t be disappointed.

I bought this to help me cut weight for backpacking and kayaking trips. It is amazingly good at cutting wood. I took it out May 3-7, 2019 for the first time on a early season camping trip. Their was a ton of blow down that wasn’t cleaned up yet after winter throughout the campground. Easily cut through 5-8 inch pine, birch and oak. It made getting enough wood for the sub 32f temps easy. Would highly recommend getting the case with the extra blade. Case is heavy canvas with leather. Extra blade is insanely efficient

This is a fantastic little saw. I purchased for a back country hunt in Alaska and it served us extremely well when we relied on it for heat and cooking wood for 9 days straight.Packs down well and sets up in a second. Rock solid when locked together and cuts very well. We cut mostly small spruce for firewood on the trip, but we occasionally cut larger stuff with ease. Highly recommend.I got the set with the extra blade and case. Never had to use the extra blade, but the case was well worth it. Kept everything together and easy to store.We only had one minor issue. When you hook the handle to snap into place, you can accidentally hook it past the notch that is intended (you will know what I mean when you have it in your hand). If you do this, you can snap it into place, but the blade hits the base of the handle and contorts it. Its obvious when you see it that something is wrong, but it took us a bit to figure out what exactly we did wrong. Just a heads up--make to use the notch when snapping into place.

I wanted to love this product. The design is ingenious and the bow saw snaps together and breaks down cleanly. My primary complaint is the tension of the blade is not adjustable, and I found it less tensioned than I needed for cutting firewood at the campsite (not happy to find that out 3 hours into the mountains). It comes with an extra blade and nice case, but for the high price, I expected more.

And it is exactly what I expected it to be. Very well built and designed to get the job done and with the portability to take with you on a hike or camping trip and at the same time requires only a very small foot print while traveling. I very much like the canvas sheaths ability to store extra blades and always handy on the go if needed as well as the fold up saw that fits nicely in the canvas sheath. I opted for the free shipping where I ordered it on Wednesday and received it on Tuesday of the next week. While this order was somewhat difficult to track as the supplier use a Canadian shipper call Chit Chats, in the end I did receive it in about 4 working days.

use this on mutliple day kayaking and camping trips.its low footprint is great when you only have so much room to stow stuff on a kayak.a friend of mine also has one and they make short work of wood when we are trying to get a pile for the nights fire.the extra blade is nice too, if you bust a blade on a multi day trip, its nice knowing you have a backup.cuts logs like butter. we all have hatchets and stuff but this is the way to go.one of my must have items.

Cool product, great design, very sturdy when locked in the open position. Use when riding my Polaris RZR XP1000. Sheath is perfect to strap behind the passenger seat, machette strapped behind the driver. Nobody even knows it's there until I need tonuse it. Better than carrying around a dangerous chainsaw and perfect to cut small limbs crossing the trail.

This saw exceeded my expectations.The price was a little higher then I was thinking I needed to spend but I am very pleased with my purchase.Strongly recommend. I have field tested this saw approx 4 times and have not seen any signs of premature wear, this is a solid product backed by a solid company. Stop thinking about it and buy it will not disappoint.

I made a previous review of this item and was sad that I did not received the saw due to mail loosing my package. well the good people at Agawa canyon made sure I received a saw and for free at that. I simply love the saw, It is a well designed product and you can count on Agawa to get it to you .. thanks ! cant wait to go camping next summer.
