Answers the critics
From answering the question “who is God?” To the resurrection and every thing Catholic in between, Fr Spitzer uses science and reason to provide proof to what Catholics believe about their faith.

Most interesting!!
This book brings science and religion to a common ground. I know the Higher Power considers 1 day and 1000 years as one and the same. I'm just a lay ignoramus, but I love to read and question everything.

Inference to Best Explanation
This is a great book, drawing together a lot of largely independent arguments whose conclusions point in the same direction, something St. Newman would heartily approve. The Shroud of Turin is just one of the highlights. The author argues from a "late" dating of the gospels, and never directly mentions any of the findings of Bernier's "Rethinking the Dates of the New Testament". (A simple example: in a new Testament letter, Peter quotes as "Scripture" one citation from the Old Testament and one from Luke's gospel; since Peter is generally acknowledged to have been martyred about the year 67, his letter probably dates from around 65, and for the gospel to already be known as Scripture suggests a date no later than the 50s; furthermore, Luke relies a lot on Mark's gospel, which must be even earlier.) Even with the late dating, the author succeeds in making his case, one which would be a good deal easier with early dating. It may be of interest that in this 2023 book, the author leans toward the notion that John the Evangelist is someone other than John the Apostle, but in his 2024 book "Christ, Science, and Reason" the Evangelist is the Apostle. This latter book gives much more scientific detail than the book being reviewed and much less Biblical detail, and for almost all readers I would recommend reading the earlier book first.
