4yr old loves this. The concept is smart bc unlike other preschool games this one is actually fun for parents too. A little more thought goes into this than your standard tic tac toe game.

Our kids love this game
We played it at a friend’s house and my kids loved it so much that I decided to get it for them for Christmas. It’s such a fun twist on a simple game that makes things more exciting. The whole family enjoys playing it from ages 3-37.

A good game for kids (and adults) who need to learn to win and lose graciously
I’ve got a little one who has some skills so she does her share of winning. But she isn’t so good at celebrating others’ success – she’s not a good sport. So how do I teach her to lose more graciously? I figured I would give her a lot of practice at losing, and that’s where Gobblet Gobblers came in.It’s based on tic-tac-toe, with the added feature that some pieces can eat other pieces. Each player gets two big gobblers, two medium sized ones, and two small gobblers. The big ones can stack on top of (or eat) the medium and small gobblers, while the medium gobblers can eat the smaller ones. The smallest gobblers are stuck at the bottom of the food chain: they can’t eat anyone. This is a very fun game to play, and it’s short: just a couple minutes long. That means in just ten minutes of playing against her dad my daughter got a chance to lose, and practice doing it the right way, a half dozen times. Of course, she also beat me once. This is a kid’s game, but one that parents don’t have to turn their brains off to enjoy too. In fact I’ve played this with my wife, and some of my nephews and nieces, ranging in age from 5 to over 20 have all found the game quite addictive too. The solid wood pieces that will stand up to some good use.Oh, and lately, now that my daughter is catching on, I’ve been finding out it’s also a good tool for the older adult who needs some practice at losing graciously!

Fun but Not Sturdy
I purchased this game for my classroom, and they kids do love it. The game play was engaging for all ages, kindergarten through 5th grade. But the pieces are made of wood. I think it would be better if they were made of something sturdier, like plastic, because the pieces got broken pretty quickly.

Great addition to traditional Tic Tac Toe
My 4 and 5 year old love this game, and so do I! We got to the point that traditional Tic Tac Toe is predictable, we just can't win against each other any more. The additional layers of game play make it exciting again! This is a great product.

Playing with my nieces
I like challenging games that don’t involve tons of pieces . Just easier when you’re disabled with limited hand function. Regular Tic tac toe gets boring really fast especially the older kids get. This game is addictive. It’s fun !!! Strategy without being too complicated & you kick yourself when you miss simple moves and lose!!! How’d I miss that ?!?!?! And same goes for them. Having fun playing this one . Highly recommend.

Excellent game for kids
My second-grader was introduced to the full-sized (4x4) version of this game at school and loved it. This is a slightly scaled-down version for younger kids, with the same basic game mechanics. It's like tic-tac-toe with an additional vertical dimension, where you can "gobble" another player's piece that is already on a space, as long as you have a bigger piece than them available. The pieces are well-made out of wood, painted with fun characters on them. Highly recommended!

Fun for all ages
This has become a family favorite game for us. My 5 year old grandson received it for Christmas and after we played it together I had to purchase one for my house. You never know who will win, whether you are playing with a young child, a teenager or an adult. Gobbling is such a fun way to play tic tac toe. The wooden pieces have a nice weight to them so they don’t fall over and the felt tops make them easy to move around and gobble the other pieces. The game is also fast moving so little ones stay engaged and learn to strategize quickly.
