This will seriously completely change ice fishing for me during the day and night. Gone are the days when I have to keep checking my tip ups constantly throughout the day when I may have had a fish on for a long time or we missed them. I can sit in the ice shanty with my friends and not stress about flags going unnoticed. These are easy to attach as they provide the supplies to do so. The range is pretty decent on these things too. Basically if one of the 4 pieces you attach to your rod or flag starts to shake or move it will send a signal to the receiver. A light will flash and you can set it to make a sound when that happens. I’ve found it to be very accurate so far. What is nice is that I can just clip it on to my jacket and then just wait for the noise so I can go check my flags. This is a brilliant idea and it comes with everything to get you started including batteries. The only thing I wish it had were rechargeable batteries instead of the included specialty batteries and 1 AAA battery.

I recently bought the 4 pack kit. I used it the weekend and it worked well. The signal strength was much farther than expected. No problems with receiver and transmitter. However the transmitters have thin plastic that lock the base and top together. After 3 uses of separating the top and bottom for battery removal, they are starting separate to easy. They will soon fall apart by themselves.If the connection between top and base of transmitter were replaced with a more secure and longer lasting connection, this would definitely be a 5 star rating.Update: As of 4/16/2024, I have used the alert transmitter and receiver alot in the past 2 weeks. They have performed as expected with no issues. I had fished with them in 2 days of rain and they worked great. The single triple A battery in the receiver goes fast (about 6-8 hrs.) while the transmitters lasted much longer (run time about 30ish hours on a cr435 battery. However as noted in previous post, the thin plastic that locks in the base broke on one of the transmitters. It is still usable and the waterproof seal works, I would not trust it much longer. I will have to find a repair option for the base and will update if a good solution is found.

First of all these alarms are not loud at all, I have other fish alarms and these are whisper volume no matter how the switch is set.2nd, I bought the 4 pc set, yet there were only a total of 2 of the 435 batteries.. How do you buy 4 units and only get batteries for 2?Let me repeat: If you move anymore than a few feet from the receiver and there is any level of background noise, you may not hear it.

These fishing alarms work great. They were easy to setup and are very loud. I do alot of night fishing with the kids and they tend to nod off lol. These spring them to their feet and have them ready to go. Battery life has lasted through several nights of fishing. They feel well made and should last a long time. Couldn't ask for a better product at this price.

UPDATE 12/12/2023: So only on my second trip using these the law in the design has become very apparent. The rubber strap included in the setup is not very wide and it ends up putting a ton of pressure on your rod. Now I was using carp rods so these were not super flimsy rods. I was reeling in and the end of my rod snapped right at the rubber strap. In fact it was right in the middle of where the bite indicator was strapped. They really screwed up here and should have come up with a better system to secure these to your rods without them eventually breaking them. That is a $200 gone. Wish I never came across these.So these are much larger than the other LED bite indicators you see on Amazon. I made sure to show that clearly in the review pictures I posted. They are fairly heavy as well. So if you are putting this on smaller rods, you want to mount them at least 3-4 inches down from the tip. I have them mounted on my heavier catfish rods which are 9 feet heavy fast action rods. It's almost like they were made for them! The lights are some of the brightest I have seen on a bite indicator. They will flash when there is vibration indication a bite.There is also a little base unit which houses the speaker because they emit an audible bite indication as well. There was no setup required, everything was synced up right out of the box. There is a antenna so you can get some distance between the base station and the bite indicator units mounted to your pole. The base station has an on and off switch and a switch for low or high volume.Ther are vastly better built than other LED bite indicators I have used. I see these lasting for years. Batteries can be tricky to find. At the time of this review I only mound one seller on Amazon with Prime shipping. Hopefully we see more of these. The batteries you want are CR435 and are just a tad longer that the usual stick batteries you see in these bite indicators.For the price I was quite happy with this kit. It's nice to have some bite indicators that will last more than a single season!
