The classic English variety is ragarded as being one of the finest tasting of all apples. The fruits are quite large, pale green with an orange flush and ready for eating in October. They will store several weeks. Crispy at first, they have a more-ish crumbly texture when kept. The flavour is not too sweet, a little savoury and aromatic. Complex and utterly irresistible! it has been delighting apple aficionado's for centuries. An easy variety to grow, it should be planted with another apple tree to ensure pollination. This rarity is a joy to grow and the flavour is absolutely superb. This tree is offered on the small 'M27' stock which ensures the tree will stay compact and is suitable for small gardens, a 24" container etc. The trees can easily be pruned to 6' or less with a similar spread.
