I've spent a couple hours using this so far, easy plug and play from the start however, and this is the problem i mentioned in the headline, the player does not include any software for blu rays themselves. That's not uncommon but frustrating none the less. it took me about an hour to find a software that worked that I liked (PowerDVD). I watched a full movie (Event Horizon) while doing some work, I didn't notice any skips during that 2 hours so I think I'll get a lot of use out of this player.So, if you are even remotely techy you wont' have any issues but it'll take some time to setup for the blu ray portion specifically if you don't already have the software.I'd recommend it. Tech can be wonky though, I'll continue using it and if I have any issues I'll update the review.

It is also backward compatible with DVDs and CDs. It is light-weight and has built-in USB-A/USB-C cable that easily tucks in underneath the unit. It is also compact which is comparable to two stacks of CD cases. This can easily slip into the side pocket of a laptop bag. The drive comes up as “MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ260B USB Device”, it was installed quickly on my Windows 11 PC and was fully plug-n-play, the hardware driver was installed automatically.

Will handle a DVD beautifully but will not even recognize a blu-ray disk when inserted. The computer just says "no disk inserted". If I only needed a DVD drive, I would keep it. But since I need a blu-ray drive, I will probably be returning it.

One I plugged this drive in, it operated with no issues and no drivers had to be installed. I loaded a 25GB blank Blu ray-R disc and burned data discs. All the files burned to the disc with no coasters. I then checked all the discs and they all loaded up my files with no problems. I then tried burning an audio CD, and it burned fast with no errors. The disc drive is sturdy and includes a Type-C and USB 3.0 connection. Five out of Five Stars!

Box is slim and orange, suitable for gifting. I love this because now I can play movies and cds on my laptop when I have a break at work. Haven’t try the writing feature yet but so far, so good! Well priced for this quality item.

Great to have a Blu-ray drive for a great price. I am using this on a Mini PC and this would also work great with my laptop computers that didn't come with an optical drive.
