Samantha and Franco are a great couple even though their relationship starts out very rocky. Samantha is broken and traumatized from a previous relationship. Franco, her boss by day, becomes the mystery man that tries to help her through her trauma. The story is fast paced and full of violence and sizzling scenes. Every book in this series that Michelle Heard has written has been off the charts awesome. They are so good I have reread all of them. I can’t wait for Drawn To Darkness to be released. I highly recommend his series. Enjoy!

This book has it ALL! The plot is thick. An enemies to lovers and HEA! Ah!Spice doesn’t hit until about 70% into the book, but because the plot is so good it doesn’t really feel like that much of a slow burn. It is WORTH the wait! 🥵I was really thrown back by what happened to Samantha and why she was at Paradiso. I loved that Franco wanted to step in and protect her. Her “mystery man” was amazing.*possible spoilers below*My ONE frown moment was that as soon as Samantha learned who mystery man was, it was almost like the story became a whole other story. I felt like the trauma she went through was sort of just “gone”? I know Franco helped with the Todd situation but for them to go straight into this hot and spicy romance it didn’t seem like her trauma was real. I know she felt safe with Franco but I really felt like it was a rush to get into the smut and there wasn’t enough emphasis on what she went through. I also wanted MORE of their relationship, but the book wraps up so quickly.Great read!!!!

Such an amazing book showing compassion, love and humor. I really enjoyed this book and the characters. First time reading anything by this author

The lead female irritated me. He was helping her, but who cares about that? He was deceiving her.The s** scenes need work. Description about how he's putting on his shirt and then his shoes. Nothing in between.Kudos to the torture rather than just outright killing. But what I don't understand is that torture is much better... So let's bury him alive with a tube for air and water, and let him starve to death and have to suffer within his own mind. That'll take a couple of weeks, yeah? You could even play with closing the tube off for a minute or two at a time... A little too much water.... Just have somebody go check on him every 8 hours or so.

This is a beautiful story about overcoming some very dark trauma after a very abusive relationship. Samantha finds healing in her mystery man only to find out later that her pain of a boss and her sweet mysterious man are one in the same. Add the fact, that he is a mafia boss and the relationship gets pretty complicated. Franco was very kind to Samantha once he realized her trauma ran so deep and he gave her the time to try and work through her fears of being alone with a man. The only thing that I thought this story lacked was a back story on how Samantha found the club paradiso and paid an entrance fee. The club was supposed to be very exclusive and it was odd how the author just presented the fact that she had bought a membership without any back plot. A chapter that included some of the back story about how she found the place and got the money to pay the fee would have made the story complete. That’s the only reason why I didn’t give it five stars. Otherwise all the other parts were great.

This book is so pleasant to read. It flows easily, very engaging, balanced and it’s just GOOD. Definitely a great book to get you out of a reading slump

Multiple times I gasped out loud, I know what I'm getting into before I open the book, but the twists and turns are always so jarring. I may have cursed the author at one point because I did not expect the attack while they were looking for buildings, then again at Samantha's apartment.Todd was a fantastic villain who I absolutely hated, and Franco was perfect! Truly this one might be my favorite of Michelle Heard's.

The writing is excellent, the storyline is good, and it has some good spice. It kept me up reading way too late. Definitely recommend

The way he helps her face her past with such pacience. How hard he falls for her. I LOVE this book. It is written in a way that captures you from the first chapter.

Franco and Samantha's story is sweet, simple and enjoyable at best.🫰🏻😊Their romance was such a beautiful slow burn.🔥Their chemistry was so perfect and the way they take care of each other. 💕🫂I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend to read it. 😊Thank you Michelle Heard for giving us the beautiful mafia storyline 🙏🏻 . Also can't wait for the next book in the series. 😍

So many tears, what a heart breaking story for Samantha and after everything she suffered and it was a lot, she found a man who not only protects her but helped her get through her trauma and he is a mafia boss and hot as hell.Great read and solid mafia side, very well written.
