a bit long, but great boot
bought these to wear during shifts as a security guard. they stay tight and fit well. I wasn't sure about the sizing and wear a 9 in hiking boots ( and the rest of my shoes) so I ordered an 8.5. they fits snug, but the toe box is a bit long and I find myself hitting it on stuff every once in a while and it makes running difficult. its such a nuance that I wouldn't have known from just trying on the boots since they fit really well thoughout the rest of the shoe. otherwise excellent product, not exactly like the soft leather ones I had during my enlistment but a close second

Standard Tropical Marine Boots - Last a while for the price but needs breaking in.
These boots are NOT comfortable when you first wear them, keep in mind. They are tough and the first thing that will go is the sole, not from wear but from splitting. If you stand on your toes, run often or generally are active for 60 hours a week or so, get a better pair of boots. These are meant to be the most cost efficient boots available while remaining some level of quality.

Best boot I've ever had.
Comfortable, lightweight, I've been wearing them for almost a year and the soles are hardly worn. I would've gone through 2 pairs of $100 boots by now.

Order Your American shoe size....
I wear size 11 in Danner Boots and 11 in Brooks running shoes. But in Wolverine Jensen's I wear a 9.5 so I suspect my actual American Shoe size is 9.5. because these are wear all day boots I ordered size 10 and they are sized the way I like. I hope that helps you with your sizing questions. I haven't worn the boots for work yet. I'll update when I do. At first glance they appear to be a "military" quality boot. When I was in the Navy we had Altama boots. These aren't as fancy as Danner Fort Lewis boots, BUT they are 1/3 the price. They have good arch support and a solid feeling sole. I bought them for working along the border so I need to wear a harder soled boot to "fight" in. I have tried many boots most cannot be worn for more than 8 hours. These boots tighten up fast the speed eyelets are great, if you pull them tight the ankle support is fabulous with this boot. These boots are pretty heavy, I don't see a weight on the box but a relative comparison they weigh less than danner Acadias but alot more than Under armours. I think these boots would be suitable for "Patrol" or "Corrections", I won't know for a weeks whether they are suitable for standing all day. But so far I am happy. Even if they aren't good for my application which literally IS standing or walking all day. I can tell right now they'd be great in other applications, would have loved them in the Navy.....

Belleville Boots are the Best!
I wore the 390 Desert boots for my last 10 years in the Army and found them to be very comfortable. After having a cheap pair of jungle boots recently fall apart in six months, I wanted a black leather, lightweight but study boot that I could wear in my current job. That's when I stumbled across these 390 hot weather boots. They fit the bill perfectly! Will buy another pair soon.As a side note: i always wore a 9R in every Army boot I wore in my career, but Belleville's run a little big, so I wear 8.5R and they fit perfectly.

The sizing is a riddle!
I wear size 11 and every other boot except for Corcoran I'm a size 10. I bought the first set of these in a size 11 before I read to order one size down so I canceled that order and I bought size 10. The 10 was a perfect fit lengthwise but it was way too narrow and I've never been told I have a wide foot.So I sent those back and I bought a 10 wide and to my dismay they were an inch and a half too long but perfect in the width. I give up at this point. I just don't understand how the sizes can be so far off! The 10 wide felt more like a 12!! Not to mention it came with a composite toe box and I specifically don't want a comp toe! So it looks like another trip to Kohl's for a drop off.If you're reading this definitely order one size down if your normal boot size in 511's, Bates Danners or the like is an 11. These were very comfortable and the vibram sole is the best in the business! I might have to try one more time!Update: I bought a 9.5 wide and it's was like an XX-wide so I bought a 9.5 regular and it fit like a 8.0. I ordered another 10 and it fits like a 10.5. it came scuffed up not sure if I'll keep it or not.I would highly recommend changing out the insoles they are terrible and not one of the pairs I bought had the same inserts!

Run large
This is a very sturdy pair of boots, I am consider a eee in Allen Edmunds, Nike, and typically in 9.5 or 10 but this pair I am a 8.5 wide. Nice boots last you a long time and abuse. Hiking, working, and daily use.
