Become a home mechanic
I got this book to use for an elective in our homeschool year. This is just what I was looking for. The beginning of the book provides an overview of what auto repair entails. These sections also go over what tools and equipment you will need as well as how to protect yourself and your surroundings. Then we get into the repair tasks. Each task is given a description and then individual repairs are described below. For example, the section may be about checking different fluid levels. Then, the following sections cover oil, transmission fluid, windshield wiper fluid, and power steering fluid. And step by step directions are provided for each one. Everything is explained in a way that even the most novice person can follow along.

Absolutely essential textbook
In a world of conflicting YouTube videos on every aspect of auto repair, a comprehensive textbook on the facts behind the skills is absolutely essential. This book provides the basic information that people who want to do their own auto repair must have at their fingertips. Not only does it provide the solid theoretical background for the physical repairs, it also includes a detailed explanation of safety issues and a comprehensive list of tools and equipment needed to do your own auto repairs. To top it off, there’s a super handy metric-to-Imperial conversion chapter, with the formula needed for every component that you might need, from inches to millimeters and liters to quarts. Gift a copy of this book to your high school graduating son/daughter/grandchild!

Do it yourself auto repair
This book is great for anyone who wants to learn about their car and be able to do their own simple auto repairs. I appreciated how it went over safety concerns when doing repairs and really explained in simple terms what each component of a vehicle is and what it does. It explained all the tools that are important for car repair and maintenance and what they are used for and how to make sure you have everything you need for a successful car repair.

Self Publisher - Copy and paste information from other authors
I quickly reviewed the pages and discovered that this appears to be a compilation of content copied from other books. The self-published work claims to be a beginner's guide, but it lacks the depth and information necessary to adequately support someone new to the topic.

making repairs accessible
The author lists and explains basic tools necessary to maintain and repair your vehicle. Basics such as oil changes are discussed as well as replacing a heating coil. A very useful chapter is scratch repair which teaches you step by step how to remove and repair scratches to keep the surface like new,
