To Love Ru Vol. 3-4

I thought the first To Love RU omnibus was good enough to make me see what happens next. This new volume is also a good one. There is the conclusion of the class trip to the sea with some ribald happenings involving a swimsuit thief and Rito and Haruna finding themselves in a potentially embarrassing situation. There are two new characters. Ren is a fellow alien who knew Lala from childhood and now wants to win her heart by showing how manly he is. Saki is the self-styled queen of the school and seeing Lala as a rival, tries challenging her. There is the triangle between Rito, Haruna and Lala and Rito doesn't know which way his feelings are taking him. Besides the regular story, the creators have written notes on how they developed some of the characters. The ones for Rito are quite interesting. While not as enthusiastic about this series as I am about Monster Musume or Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, To Love RU is a good, solid effort, a very "meat and potatoes" manga.

But i'm enjoying them so far.

I really like this series a lot and the star rating reflects how I felt about this volume. However, if I had to rate the shipping or whatever category would best fit my criticism, I would tack off a star. Don't get me wrong, I love receiving these volumes at least a week before the release date, but it kind of takes away the point of preordering if the prices are not going to be closer to what they are on release day. The way I choose to see it is that I paid the extra money for early access (I guess), but obviously I would have preferred to have gotten both volumes at a better price. With the first one there was like a $6 decrease on day one and with this one there was a $5 decrease. The solution is easy, just don't preorder, but I thought I would post this as a warning. If you preorder, you're getting charged $20 and will most likely receive it a week before the street date.
