Driver download link didn't work for me.
So far so good, once I was able to get it installed, that is. The driver link they provided did not work for me. I navigated through the files and downloaded just the setup.exe file. It just kept saying it did not support "this operation system". You know you're in trouble when the error message is in broken English. Maybe I was supposed to save that whole file to the laptop rather than just launch the setup.exe file? Anyway, I decided to paste the full install file off the mini CD from a computer that had a CD drive over a remote connection to the laptop I wanted to use the adapter on and then I was able to complete the install. Now I have a list of all the wifi networks the built in adapter can detect plus another list under wi fi 1 of all the wireless connections the external adapter can see. The built in is just 2.4 so having the 5 G is already an advantage. Speeds seem better and the conection seems solid, but I plan to test it another week before I buy more for all the rest of our laptops. And I will bring an external CD drive to do the install!

works great
Works great, had trouble till I saw "note" at end of instructions, win10 does not need CD plug in and go to your network settings,,,,as fast as a wired connection for my use.

Works fine.
Live on a boat and use marina wifi. Signal weak inside the boat so I connected the dongle to a Tupavco TP542 external antenna with a GEMEK 15 ft Low-Loss Coaxial Extension Cable. Works great. Just remember to get the connector gender correct.

updated review
This is an updated review as of August 27, 2018.I ordered this adapter back in April of this year (2018). It worked great. Out of all of the various brands of WiFi adapters that I’ve used, it performed the best.In August of this year, it died. I was extremely disappointed due to how well the adapter worked but how short of a lifespan it had.I wrote a review detailing the death of the adapter. Less than 12 hours later, I was contacted by Blueshadow and offered a troubleshoot. I told the representative that the device was entirely dead - it didn’t even light up anymore. This morning I woke-up to a message from the representative stating that a new adapter was in transit and to not use the adapter on the front USB ports as it often results in a burned chip.Writing my initial review, I was not expecting to be contacted. After I was, I see that they want to provide not only a good product but outstanding customer service as well.I will update this review further as more time elapses to provide transparency on the quality of the product.

Works great with my Windows 10 devices
I bought two of these Blueshadow USB WiFi adapters to replace my older adapters which over the years bogged down to a crawl or underperformed.I installed one Blueshadow to add WiFi ability to my HP desktop and installed another on an aging Lenovo laptop. Both run Windows 10 Home version 1803. I used the installation disc that came with the adapter.I am paying my internet service provider for 100Mbps down/10Mbps up.Very impressed with the two Blueshadow adapters. On my HP desktop, my old adapter was only at 65Mpbs down/2Mbps up. After installing the Blueshadow adapter, my WiFi speed improved to 116Mbps down, 11+ Mbps up.Over to the Lenovo laptop where my old adapter was only getting about 6-7 Mbps down and 20+ Mbps up. After removing the old adapter and installing the Blueshadow adapter my WiFi speed improved to 116Mbps down/11+ Mbps up. And I didn’t even screw on the antenna! On my Lenovo laptop I noticed my new Blueshadow WiFi adapter’s “status” window showed a speed of 867.0 Mbps. Before, it was only 72 Mbps with the old adapter. Now, this is interesting because my new WiFi adapters are connected via USB 2.0 ports. As we all know, USB 2.0 has a theoretical transfer rate of 480Mbps. And, my service is for 100Mbps. But the WiFi “status” window still shows 867Mbps. Just thought I’d throw that in.As of now, I am happy with the significant speed increase provided by my two Blueshadow WiFi adapters. Hope they work out for you too.NOTE: I did have to manually adjust both Blueshadow WiFi adapters properties advanced setting Wireless Mode to IEEE 802.11a/n/ac. Otherwise, I would only have gotten about 65Mbps.

Works great, that is once you get it setup
Pros - Once you get it setup, it works great. I now have a 5g connection on an old laptop. Taking it out (USB) then putting it back in connects fast (I sometimes have to rearrange my USB connections).Cons- Was difficult to get setup. The 'mini cd' wouldn't load on my laptop nor my newer desktop. How am i supposed to download install instructions if i don't have internet? Basically had to download instructions on one device (with internet), save it to a USB, then install from that.

Working fine. Fast.
I suspect some of the minor problems I've had during installation and early use is due to the computer running XP. I was concerned if a USB unit would provide enough juice for a good signal, considering the distance to the router. However, XP rates the signal strength as "Excellent". BTW - someone had mentioned on Amazon that this unit will only work with routers capable of the "ac" communication standard. Not true. My router is an "n/g" class, and it communicates very well. There has been a lot of newly introduced "enforced security" (https, etc) to the web since the computer was last used four years ago. Now, places I used to go are "no go". Others are okay. The Firefox browser on the machine is version 3.x.x, whereas the last XP-supported version is 52.9. I hope upgrading will solve some problems.

dongle increases range and speed of internet a little bit
This dongle isn't a dramatic boost but it does improve internet , downloads ,buffering and browsing are faster with it but I noticed download speeds are still painfully slow for me. It improves range of internet this is what it does best and it prob won't do much to improve a wifi connection that is already close to the main wifi hotspot. I do find videos online are faster to load with it , I do manage to get a signal in my garden (which is new) and I do find I lose connection online less. . For windows 10 just put it into usb go to where you connect to the internet and you will see "wifi 2" click it then go to the internet network option you use and it will connect. I feel it was worth the price due to my ultra poor internet at home and useful for the many low range public internet networks I try to reach on my mini gpd laptop when traveling so maybe it won't be worth the price for everyone but those with poor internet range or with no current working wifi card this is great.

Not fit for purpose
This item does not work properly with my intel i9 Win 10 machine, eventually you can get it working, but you have to restert the computer three or four times each time you turn your machine on, I have another wifi adapter that works flawlessly, this one needs you to de-activate and reactivate it numerous times in order for it to work, and even then it will drop out regularly. It seems to be the software that is the problem, when it's connected it works fine signal wise, so maybe with other operating systems it's fine, I would recommend buying another product though, as the software causes the windows network toolbar to crash regularly when it is plugged in, when unplugged it's fine. Also causes my focusrite external audio card to intermittenly drop out as well (works fine when it's not plugged in) so there are lots of issues with this product. I'll be using my other wifi adapter which I bought to replace this one, this one is going in the bin.

Worked great for a couple of months ... then failed
Bought in September, died at the beginning of December. Not sure what hte problem was, but it simply stopped working.Other USB devices work in the same PC USB slot this is inactive, and this same device won't work in other slots (even in other machines). Was great while it lasted, but not prepared to "rent" a wifi dongle at approximately 5 pounds per month!

Very easy set up and online in no time
My son built his first gaming PC and we didn't trailing wires all over the house. Delivery was next day and very easy to open the packaging. The antenna screws into the USB without fuss. From there plugged into a spare USB port on the back of the PC and he is now enjoying fantastic speeds over wifi. Moreover there is very little in game lag. No need for any software configuration, plug and play at it's finest.Highly recommended

Worked well for a couple weeks
I was sceptical about purchasing a device that appeared to be a bit "vanilla", but the adapter was easy enough to install on my Windows 10 PC.It worked well for a couple weeks with better speed and far fewer drop outs. Then last night my PC was updated (Windows update) and when it restarted, the device was no longer recognised. Restart didn't resolve (tried several times). Tried using different USB port - no change. Then tried re-installing the drivers from the install disc. "This version of Windows is not supported." Say what?I then tried rolling back the update. Afterwards, I was able to run the install disc, and was even instructed to restart the PC. When it rebooted, the device was still not recognised and the drivers hadn't even registered. I actually work in IT so not completely clueless and I've never seen a device go wrong so quickly. My 7 yr old original USB Wifi dongle puts it to shame as it's never given me anywhere near this level of grief and I've now had to resort to using it again.Definitely returning.
