it's an ok seasoning
Do not expect that " burst of flavor, melting in your mouth" kind of experience. The Amazon mixed seasoning gives that experience better than this one. But I like their naming sense and the seasoning is a decent add on to the Amazon seasoning. By itself, it won't give the rice flavor enough to make it an interesting meal ... i think it might be great with meat or meat substitute and added to your rice. Maybe that is what they had in mind when making it and not people eating rice by itself with vegetables

Not Like Japanese FURIKAKE. Garlicky & Spicy. More Suited As Dry Rub For Meats, Poultry, & Fish.
Purchased on 10-09-2024 for $3.98.I do like this. It is tasty, but it is very different from Japanese FURIKAKE which is used primarily as sprinkles to add flavor to plain rice. This McCormick topping includes a NOTICEABLE amount of garlic. It's not just a gentle suggestion of garlic, but quite a bit of it. You won't find garlic in FURIKAKE.I am a fan of garlic, so it doesn't bother me, but it probably won't be well received by little kids.Another difference is that this also has some heat. FURIKAKE is a combination of sweet and salty; it's not spicy hot. This does pack a punch, albeit just a jab. The listed ingredients contain "SPICES (INCLUDING SESAME SEEDS, GINGER)." It doesn't specify what other spices beyond those are included. I suspect that the bite comes from red chili flakes in addition to the ginger. As I indicated at the top, I do like this, but I don't see it as FURIKAKE to sprinkle over rice or pasta noodles to make what's flavorless flavorful. To me, because of the garlic and the spiciness, it's more suited as seasoning (dry rub) for meat, poultry, and fish. Sprinkle it on steaks. Jazz up your beef patties to enjoy the hamburger without having to add condiments. Liven up your paltry poultry. Add a little edge to the swordfish...If you want FURIKAKE for rice and pasta, there are better options.By the way, there is no "Best By" or "Use Before" information anywhere. Seems unusual.*Update: There is a "Best By" date of Oct 23 2025. It was very hard to see.

Itās a little spicy
Itās a little spicy, which isnāt really a problemā¦except thatās not what I was expecting. There are red pepper flakes in this mix. They donāt list all of the ingredients, but companies should list the ones that are going to register as hot. Not everyone loves spicy/hot food. I neither love it or hate it, but I didnāt get the flavor of any of the other ingredients.
