The Little Book of Love

Quintessential Gibran, made portable
I've been a Gibran fan all my life, although as I've aged, I've come to see his works in a different way. In my younger days, it was about the beauty of the words, the phrasing, the structure...now, it's about the meaning and how it relates to the experiences of my life. Gibran is like that.I find this particular book a good collection of Gibran's most famous Love poems, although as another reviewer suggested, it is brief and a bit narrowly focused on some of his most romantic works. If this is to be your only Gibran, I would never recommend it...you will miss out on too much. Instead, start with The Prophet, then wind your way through Sand and Foam, Broken Wings and a few others. Think of them (or one of the collected writings) as the prerequisites that will give you the perspective to understand and appreciate this lovely book.

Selection of Gibran's Love poems
This is a hard cover book and it contains a selection of love poems from immortal Lebanese author Kahlil Gibran. I love having it next to me, opening pages at random and just reading whatever comes up. The most recent quote that "popped up" at me was "Love and Doubt were never on speaking terms".

VERY uplifting for those of us in love, and inspiration for those who aren't
Another masterpiece, and what I call a master-piecing of the work and words of the master,Kahlil Gibran.VERY uplifting for those of us in love, and inspiration for those who aren't,Gibran's emotions never fail to touch the deepest registers of the human heart.Do yourself a favor and buy at least two copies..One for the person you love with all of your heart, and one for your desk at work, your car, wherever you need one to help you reflect on the gift that the other person is to you and your life, every day.I hope my review helps a bit. Thanks for taking the time to check it out.Peace-cp

Quite Little
This Little Book of Love is quite literally little measuring in at about 4”x6” and having only 80 pages of content, many of which have abundant white space or dark illustrations. This book must be aimed at young lovers because the font size is difficult for some of us who have crossed the 40 year age barrier. Despite those issues, the book has a few beautiful quotes and would make a lovely gift or stocking stuffer for a loved one. It seems to fall in the category of a “bathroom book” in my opinion: All of its short entries are easily read in brief sittings.

Amour, amour, amour!
This wonderful little book is aimed at your heart, and it hits the mark. Once I had opened it, I couldn't put it down until I had read every word. Caution: if you have never loved another truly, you won't get it. It made me cry for the joy of reliving love's first delights.

A little book big on inspiration...
I bought this book for myself, after having read 'The Prophet' and absolutely loving it. It has a wealth of small, thought-provoking, and yet very simple verses, that have an intense ability to speak directly to any reader. They cover so much of the human experience, and I found myself both chuckling, and crying with sorrow at some of the words on the page, as they reflected so beautifully, and accurately my own experiences of life and love so far. I would highly recommend this lovely little book to anyone, who is either looking for comfort, affirmation, or inspiration for themselves, or as a beautiful and thoughtful gift for others. It would be appreciated by anyone who enjoys the pleasure of reading soulful and beautifully written words....it's an absolute gem.

The Little Book of Love Khalil Gibran.
Another little gem to store in one's bag, pocket, backpack, To browse in gentle moments on trains, park benches, whenever there are lovers to be seen, or when the reader feels love ... tiny words that can fill vast spaces. Enchanting little booklet.

Nice
Nice little book, bought second hand. Sadly there was a sticker on it which showed that the original person bought it for £1 however sold to me for more. When sticker was removed it took away some of the front cover with it! Slightly disappointed.

This is a beautiful little read. Kahil Gibran captures your thoughts with his amazing capacity of writing. Gave it as a present to someone I love so each time they may doubt they can take a quick peek.
