These chopsticks do not need to be separated at one end. They are Japanese style chopsticks where both ends are pointed and hence, either, or both ends can be used. The fact that there is no end to separate to be able to use them is a plus. This means that there will be no uneven end to be wary of or any sharp pointed end to keep away from kids.These chopsticks are very high quality. In initial use, there was no slivers or stray splinters that could be found on them. Also, the paper sheath protects them when not in use. The one added advantage of being pointed at both ends is that the end that was not used to put food in one's mouth can be used to move food into to-go containers, so as not to contaminate the food with saliva. This eliminates the need to use new, unused eating utensils to do the job.

Nothing really to say other than these are very basic, but well put together chopsticks. They come packaged in sets of two which you get 100 sets of them. They're sturdy, can very easy to use if you know how to use chopsticks. Also affordable too! Bamboo can be reused after a cleaning so they can be reused if you want to clean them. Definitely worth the purchase if you're looking for chopsticks!

The package was delivered next day and came in a beat up clear plastic bag with all the sticks in them. Each pair is loosely held together with a paper band and are well made with no stray fibers or blemishes.They're different from the normal bamboo sticks that I'm used to getting at restaurants that are two sticks that you break apart and have some roughness to them and usually bamboo strings hanging off... These are not the same, not rough at all, you can't see any bamboo grain because they're so smooth, almost polished. Both sides of the sticks are pointed also, so when you're going back for more on a shared plate, don't be a caveman, you use the hand side not the one you put in your mouth :)Good quality utensils! Maybe work on some better packaging rather than a bag with holes in it from handling.

We purchased these for a large event and they are perfect! The design is very sturdy and it's easy to have the available to guests since they are individually wrapped. It made our event so much fun and enjoyable.
