Great product works well and great signal

I have been with Vodafone for 6 months and during that time we have noticed a significantly bad wifi signal on our broadband. I can be sat in the sitting room 1.5m from the router and I only 2 or 3 bars on my mobile or laptop. Going through just one wall (a distance of 3 metres) into the next room and sometimes the signal drops altogether. Google showed that I was not the only one troubled by Vodafone's 'dummy' box.Having recently spent quite a bit on upgrading xbox's pcs etc while we are stuck at home I needed a cheap but working option. So I got this.Nice looking piece of kit that came in a box with an ethernet cable and mains adapter. Once you connect to the router's admin page (usually 192.168.10.1) there is a wizard to help you set up the initial settings and then differing menu options available thereafter depending upon whether you are using it as a bridge or router etc. for you to customise if you need to.I now use the vodafone box as a modem only and this is connected to it to provide routing and wifi. Despite the fact that the 2 boxes are only 60cm apart on a different shelf, the signal is now almost 5 bars in every room! Using a wifi analyser app on my phone, the signal in the sitting room (1.5m from the router) which was previously around 58% is now 100%, go figure.I saw little sense in trying to use a repeater or extender from the hallway for instance as the signal from the vodafone box was clearly not strong enough to start with. Now, the kids don't complain. Wifi does not drop and everyone is happy. Job done!

I bought this router to use as a wireless access point to provide coverage in a part of the house without WiFi. It is wired to my BT Smart Hub via an ethernet cable. The product is a smart design and a I particualrly wanted a white cased Access Point because of where it was to be positioned - there are not many around at this price. The initial set up was pretty easy - I used a wired connection to a laptop, the software interface is not the most sophisticated but adequate Once up and running I found the WiFi coverage to be good and the throughput very good and I was losing very little speed (unlinke the previous failed TP Link AP which this replaced). It worked well for a couple of days and then I noticed the light on the front was blinking red. The AP was still providing 5 and 2.4 Gz connections and was working fine except that you could not log into the system and when Pinged it did not respond - it also did not show up on the list of devices attached to the Smart Hub - very strange. When I rebooted the system I noticed that the 5Ghz service was not now working and has not worked since. I have tried altering settings and rebooting but to no avail. I have not done a factory reset as I can't be bothered at the moment and am making do with the 2.4Ghz service. Having just gone through returning the TP Link AP I don't have much appetite to do the same with this. If and when I get it going I will update here. Shame because I was initially very pleased with it. I am beginning to appreciate my ugly, old, black Netgear AP which I have in another part of the house - it seems bombproof.UPDATE - The Router is set to reboot each night and lo and behold one morning after a couple of weeks the 5GHz service was working again and so far has continued to work - hence the increase from 3 to 4 stars. One other thing to mention, if you want to hang this on a wall there are no holes with which to do it. A bit of a pity as that is what I wanted.

Easy to setup and provided strong wi-fi to an upstairs room (used powerline adaptor connection). Good value for the price.

Purchased this unit to upgrade our Internet for VR. Unit worked well for the first 3 days, then just died. No power lights, nothing. Am returning and wouldn't buy again.

I got this on a prime deal and I would say for the cost it's OK... I was hoping to replace my home broadband with this but I'm not convinced yet.Plus points are it's compact, easy to setup (I'm using it with a tesco sim on a data plan and it was plug and play mostly other than setting up a password). I can stream tv, use my phone (I'm doing this review right now on it. Amazing hey) and connect my laptop without too many issues.The negatives are that the power lead, really is a bit ridiculously short. I would say around a metre in length. Personally I will be looking at a longer lead so I can move the router around for a better signal at times. (Especially when I take it to my caravan)It freezes! Alot! I have just setup a routine restart daily (this can be easily done from the devices login page) but it wasn't something I was expecting. Since owing it I've been pulling the plug every 2 or 3 days to restart it and get my signal back. I'm hoping my new restart schedule will fix this issue.And lastly the signal isn't a whole lot better than the little mobile dongle I was replacing. I was hoping for some blisteringly fast speeds with its 4 antennas. But I can't honestly say I'm noticing a huge difference in speeds yet... this may differ if I can find a longer power lead and play with the location of the router. Time will tell..Overall if I was looking for something to start the world of 4g sim internet or I couldn't get home broadband it would definitely do a job. And for when I'm away in my caravan I'm sure it will be OK. But I can't reccomend it for home use as a viable replacement for broadband.

Excellent. Just what we asked for. Very Good wifi connection & speed & SD card slot works fine too. It took a while to secure the wifi. We followed Instructions from leaflet but we couldn't get it to be secure, it was open access to all. (Probably it's because we're not computer savey!!!) So we asked Google, as you do when you're stuck.... 😅You Need to enter YOUR password on the form where "SSID" is!!!! It was then locked 🔒 so only you & who you let know what your password is to access your WiFi. Yippee 👍 Obviously computer savey people are ok.😀

Nein, kauft euch was richtiges und nicht ao ein billig ding. Ich hatte so Probleme den einzurichten, entweder fand er den Router nicht oder hat während dem einrichten die Verbindung verloren, und sobald er eingerichtet war konnte ich nicht mehr drauf zu greifen. Ging direkt zurück

Router wurde am 10.6.24 gekauft,am 11.6.24 geliefert. Jetzt ist das Netzteil schon defekt. Man kann keinen Verkäufer kontaktieren, Amazon nimmt nicht mehr die Ware zurück weil die Rückgabefrist abgelaufen ist. Normalerweise müsste es eine Garantie geben.
