Not as pictured
Not as warm toned as anticipated, not as shiny either. The size is excellent. The loop works well though it's not as smooth as I had hoped. Overall I paid more money hoping to get what looked in the pictures to be a superior product but ended up with what I wish I had paid $20 for. This is my first yarn bowl, I already love it because it IS pretty and I plan to have it for a very very long time my only observation is the product I received is not as perfect as the product pictured. There is a large section of the bowl that had a blemish with was filled with wood filler. I don't like the look so I have returned the item for a replacement. UPDATE-Replacement has arrived and overall better, warmer tone, less wood filler. Aforementioned (in a different review by a different customer) crack on the lip near the spiral has been visibly repaired. I don't mind but I thought I would follow-up as another reveiwer had mentioned such a defect. I have been using this bowl for some months now. I LOVE IT. Even with the defects and returns I give it 4 stars. It would be 5 had I not had to 4eturn the first bowl.

Cracked update
UPDATE: I received the replacement bowl really quick. I’m sorry to say this one also has a crack but it’s not in the area the first one was. This crack is on the thicker part of the wood (not at the loop that holds the yarn like the first one was). I’ve decided to keep this bowl. The wood Is beautiful & very smooth.

Perfect size for my knitting needs
After searching for a perfect yarn bowl, I had only seen ceramic ones, I found this beautiful wooden bowl to hold my yarn while knitting. It's beautiful, perfect size and pretty on my coffee table. I love this bowl !!!!

Beautifully polished rosewood yarn bowl. Absolutely gorgeous bowl which was delivered in time promised. As beautiful as the bowl is, I was totally gobsmacked about the packaging. It comes in a satin lined velvet box! Perfect as it’s a gift.

Small
The bowl is nice, the only issue it is smaller than a skein of yarn so you have to use the skein prior to fitting in the bowl. I would not recommend for that reason.
