Magnets powerful enough to stick to each other
I bought these after reading dozens of reviews for various in-ear headphones. I wanted high quality and consider myself somewhat picky/discerning/snobby/fill-in-the-blank when it comes to sound quality. I read reviews on products past the $1K price point and concluded that they didn't make a lot of sense for me—I'm using Spotify's high-quality setting from an iPhone 6 Plus and I found that the elite products often demanded (or at least were frequently reviewed with) an external amplifier, DAC, and/or MMCX cables that cost $250 (just for the cable). I just wasn't able to justify the $600-$1500 for an ecosystem to support earbuds, especially based on someone else's review (as if there were anyplace to go and try these products in person!).The Periodic Audio Mg (Magnesium) garnered positive comments from several sites that specialize in audio equipment, so after a lot of reading and consideration, I decided to give them a try. The short version is they sound great, much better than the old Klipsch earbuds they replace. I also in parallel tried out a pair of Bose QC20 earbuds (at 2.5x the price as these) but I like these much better and returned the Bose.I wanted earbuds purely for music, and didn't want anything inline that would break or add weight, such as controls or a microphone. Since the the old Klipsch earbuds failed due to cabling, I considered other headphones with MMCX connectors but I came to understand that this isn't a panacea: connectors can come loose, the threads can strip, etc. (Murphy's law). Periodic Audio opted for fixed connectors with wire is thicker and sturdier than other headphones, and they seem like they'll last.An interesting side note: these are the first earbuds I've ever seen where the magnets are strong enough that the earbuds will stick to each other if placed just right! The sound channel is markedly larger than the old headphones I had. The magnets and drilled bass ports (I think that's what they are) might explain the impressive bass, but the higher frequencies are also clear—I can hear words/lyrics and instruments that I hadn't noticed before, and yet I have no problem driving these with my aging iPhone 6 Plus (into my aging ears!). Some of that may be the extra attention we pay to something new, of course, but after several weeks I continue to be impressed by the sound range and quality. The only downside at all is very, very minor in my mind: with certain (interchangeable) tips in place, it's very difficult to see the red coloring on the grill for the right ear, and there are no external indicators to otherwise show which is for which ear. I tried a red permanent marker, but the case is made of metal and the marker eventually wears off. A minor inconvenience, in my mind, for really great sound for under $100.Regarding the earbud tips, a good selection is included, and the diameter is larger than other products, so no need or ability to repurpose tips from other sets.

Good sound, crappy cable design
These took a good while to break in, but once they did wow what a difference. My biggest gripe about these phones is the cable. For a $100 headphone they couldn't even include a flat cable or some kind of tangle free design. These get tangled fairly easily and are super fustrating to untangle. I feel like I'm going to break the wire untangling them one day because it is also very thin.

Your ears deserve better. This is it.
EDIT: Their customer service is fantastic as well - I had to RMA and I got back my new pair within days.I really like these earphones. I like the unique packaging and design. I like the customer service from Periodic Audio. When you're buying quality audio equipment, you're looking out for the above. More important than all of that, however, is the sound. So, it was a bit trickier to get used to the way these sit in my ears. In the package came a ziplock bag of ear tips - and I tried the lot. None of them REALLY worked for me - perhaps I got used to the default. You have to create a good seal for the sound to deliver as expected. Even the best earphones can sound like the worst when the ear-tips don't seal the ear canal properly. So, to the sound. I won't break it down like other reviewers since I'm not a professional. What I can tell you isa) The low-end is plenty sufficient. If you feel it isn't enough, your ear-seal is probably questionable.b) The midrange representation is refreshing - it makes listening to music very enjoyable. Chords and synths sound bright and exciting. This has its caveats - the louder you go, brighter sounding snares/hats begin to hurt the ears. This is a normal compromise - don't listen to your music that loudly. I quote from their description: "The sonic signature of the Mg IEM is relatively neutral but with a brighter top end than our Be unit. Many people prefer this sound for use in noisier environments."That's about it for the sound. Do I think they're worth $100 dollars? Absolutely. I feel the sonic representation is accurate in these earphones. Percussion is really enjoyable. I can see myself making beats with just these headphones and no over-the-top equipment. Producers, music lovers - if you just want good sound, look no further for the price. To put this in perspective, we can only make this technology better by supporting smaller audio companies like Periodic Audio. They understand that you don't have to be ripped off today to own a good pair of IEMs.

Broke at the split after less than 5 months of use
They sounded good when they worked. I was impressed with the sound quality and totally dissatisfied with the build quality. Would not recommend anyone buy these. Now I need to find a new pair of earbuds.

Constantly azing
Update:These earbuds have been through hell and back, bit the audio quality is still brilliant. They have been eaten by my baby, run through the washer and dryer, left out in the rain, and ripped out of my ears countless times. Needless to say, I have not been gentle with them. I use them daily for my walk to work, as well as the majority of my day in the office.Yet, the quality of the audio is still there. Watching "Into the Spiderverse", I am blown away by the dynamic range, especially in the bass. I can't begin to say how much I recommend these earbuds. If you are looking for high-quality and long-lasting buds, look no further.

Velvety Smooth Mid-Range, Pristine Highs
The Mg's are my go-to, EDC. The small form factor and the fact that it is easily powered by the weakest sources. The orthodox form-factor makes for a comfortable fit. In addition, the sound is pretty spectacular at this price-point. Mids are clear, with a enhanced mid-bass bump. Imaging is above-average. Pinpointing the positioning of each sound is made effortless. Highs are accentuated, with a shimmery sparkle at the top end.Apart from the thin cable (a detachable cable is ideal), the Periodic Audio Mg is a top-tier audiophile earphone.

Qualità audio
Le cuffie suonano molto bene, molto "cliniche" con una leggera enfasi sulle alte.Personalmente le ho dovute ritoccare un po' via eq per mia sensibilità verso certe frequenze, però oggettivamente suonano benissimo.
