ShotLock Quickdrawer 200M Solo Vault

This is an excellent solidly built handgun safe. It is not electric ( i’m referring to the mechanical model, I did not buy the electronic version) and does not have the issue of batteries running low. It is easy to reset the lock to open with the code that you want to use. It will keep the handgun out of the use of an unauthorized person, Unless they are going to use a sledgehammer and or crowbar to try to get into it. It is not a fireproof safe, it is not that heavy duty. But it is a little bit annoyingly heavy when moving it around. (14 lbs) This seems to make a great safe to keep a handgun in a vehicle if you have to leave the gun there temporarily. Even in cold weather there’s no battery to lose voltage. And with the drawer it can be mounted under a seat and with the proper code entered it will slide forward to allow access to the contents. I recommend mounting the safe to the floor of the vehicle. The way the drawer works is that after the code is entered and the unlock latch is moved to the unlock position the face of the safe has to be pressed in slightly for the drawer to spring out. So the safe needs to be mounted in a fixed position so that pressure can be applied to the face of the safe. It is large enough for a 5 inch 1911, and a 4.5 inch barrel revolver. But not large enough for a 6 inch barrel revolver.Would I recommended to a friend? yes!Would I buy it again? I did - for my wife’s vehicle.

For the money you cant beat this. The next best thing is double the money. Easy to install and easy to change the lock combination. Mechanical is the way to go, never have to deal with batteries and hope the day you need to get into it in a emergency it opens. Takes a bit of practice to properly press the numbers to open it. Nice interior lined with felt. This is my second shotlock...I have one upstairsand another downstairs. Dont hesitate getting it. For the value its worth it.

Mounted in the trunk of my car, works well for temporary storage when necessary.

Pros - Easy install, it is heavy duty! I was also surprised at how easy it was to change the combination. It comes with 3 keys, it’s mechanical so there are no batteries to die or electronics to fail!Con - I wish the spring on the door opened a little more. It’s not bad but it could open a little more and it faster.

Excellent safe and easy to install! Plenty of room for full size pistols plus extra mags.

Would not open over 50% of the time when unlocked. No good for intended purpose

My wife bought this for me as a present, so it's not a verified purchase. The mechanical functionality safe is amazing, and I really liked that. The first thing I didn't like, the drawer didn't spring open as much as I expected. This might be due to the real issue I found. There was a rattling sound inside. When I took the drawer out I saw a small ball bearing rolling around. I removed it and noticed some bearings missing from the right side sliding bracket. It functioned well enough, and I went ahead to install it. During the process the slider on the right came completely off and all the ball bearings were rolling around inside the compartment. Needless to say, that was the end of it. I expected a higher quality from a safe of this cost with no electronic tech in it. I had high hopes. I might swap it out for a new one, and hope it's better. 2-star for the lock functionality.

I got the no-batteries version. The buttons aren't great, some have a nice click, some don't. The steel is good and solid. You can open the drawer fairly quickly and easily. It is spring loaded. So there isn't really anything wrong with the unit, if you want a mechanical easy-access safe, this will get the job done. You do have to take it apart to change the combination. You can go thru all the combinations in a couple of hours. If this is the kind of thing you want, this will be fine.
