A gorgeous bit of kit
Saw this on a Lightning Deal and decided to do something about my poorly lit workbench in my garage. Other reviewers mentioned how bright the 50W model was so I opted for the 30W model thinking it would be adequate. The light is beautifully made and oozes quality and strength. The design is impressively compact and slim. I tried it in the kitchen before heading for the garage. It certainly is bright, exceeding my already high expectations. After drilling two holes in the garage wall, screwing in the swinging arm and plugging into a switched socket, my work was done. Power, light, complete satisfaction. And is really is bright. I'll be looking out for more items by Gosun.Tip: this is mounted via two or three screw holes in a bracket. It is not a freestanding unit.

Lifespan is a concern
I've had 4 of these for a while now, while 2 have lasted, the other two had failed early on (just over a year after purchasing) the third has also given up about 3 months later.I found that they would start to show signs of age (a full row of LEDs) would fail after a few months the other remaining two rows may hang on for a little while longer, but ultimately once one row fails, it's only a matter of time before the rest follow suit. These are not even used outside, so moisture/rain were definitely not a contributing factor to their failure, I just assume the heat sink fins on the rear are not large enough to dissapate the heat

Bright but not great..
The light itself was fine but there are a couple of issues.Firstly, it comes with a 3 pin UK mains plug which is fitted with a 2ft lead (approx). A normal 3 pin plug is absolutely useless for outside use and needs to be cut and replaced with a waterproof junction box - extra expense.Secondly, the short cable is attached to the light by means of a proprietary sleeved screw-in connector which looked ok but as soon as it was attached, the thin rubber band which kept the water out, brakes or just falls out and this just lets the rain into the connector. The band itself is made from a very squishy rubber which just falls apart very easily and is very difficult, if not impossible to re-position once it’s fallen out.A good light, spoilt by poor design and execution.

Few points to consider, though quality product.
I baught two of these, one day light, one warm for propergating seedlings. My reasons is that CREE technology is a safe bet and garantees a certain margine of quality. Some things to consider that might not be obvious is that these do pull the exact wattage they claim to. This is a good thing for the most part, however pulling a few watts less does extend the life of LED systems. However, with 36 months warranty and CREE led's it should be fine.My only real criticism is that the cable is a bit short, which can be an issue as the plug is a solid sealed unit; which is why it's rated IP65. Meaning, if you want to extend it, you need an extension lead or physicaly cut the wire, find the appropriate rated cable and buy a new plug. Apparantly this amendment is covered by the warranty..As a whole though, it's good quality, no cheap parts, and the light output/wattage pull is accurate. The heat sink on the back helps disperse the heat which it emitts a reasonable amount of (up to 75C at room temperature) if it's on for extended amounts of time. Certainly worth the price (I paid £27).

Bright and reliable
I have 6 of these lights in my front/back garden now for when it is party time (frequent). They are bright (too bright to stare at) and have a reasonably focused beam that does not disperse too much light in the wrong directions. They are simple to setup and come with all the mountings needed. Few tools are needed too, and these lights can be installed easily and quickly with just a drill and screwdriver. However, the single failing for these lights is that they are NOT able to be rewired by the consumer, they come with a moulded UK plug (cable around 1 meter) attached. This is of little use in a wet environment like a garden, unless you have lots of expensive IP44/66 extension leads. You will likely find that cutting the plug off and purchasing an outside waterproof connector (another expense) to join to your garden electrical cables (frost/waterproof cables) is the best way forward. Having said that, the lights are of sufficient quality and reliability that I have purchased a number of additional units since my initial purchase.

Good LED Floodlight
Having experience of traditional LED floodlights, the Gosun floodlight has proven a relevation. It is much lighter in weight than the normal styled floodlight and much more compact. The Gosun comes with about one metre flex and a plug. For normal use you will need to remove the plug top and hardwire. Having a respectable length of flex does help. So many fittings now come with a rediculous short flex that makes them hard to wire. The light output seems good. It is not as focussed as a traditional fitting as it has no reflector but for general use this is not a problem. It comes with a 36 month warranty hopefully I will not need it as the fitting seems quite robust and feels like a quality product - on this one I will just have to wait and see how well it lasts. The price is competitive for what you get so only time will tell if they offer a cost effective lighting solution and outlasts the more traditional styled LED fittings I also have.

50W is extremely bright
Wow, I dazzled my Mrs as I plugged this light in the living room to see how bright it is when it arrived.I bought it with intention of using in the garage when working on my car but I am decorating at the minute and I thought I will try it out. With a suitable stand which I had from my halogen floodlight this light is perfect.I'm not sure the light would withstand prolonged outdoors use but for any indoors work you can't go wrong, the spread is very good and the brightness is ridiculous, it's like having your own private sun!
