Slices of Night: A Novella in Three Parts

Excellent and Quick Read
What do you get when three best selling authors get together for one book? Erica Spindler, J.T. Ellison and Alex Kava proved you get genius in several ways with SLICES OF NIGHT- available only through ebook. The story line was seamless - one killer, many victims, and a touch of romance in each tale. While each author wrote 1/3 of the message seemed clear throughout - catch the killer before he killed too many more innocent people. The story and message were great despite the simplicity and few errors that existed throughout the novel, which only worked to prove to me that even best selling authors make mistakes. It also helped rebuild my confidence as a writer in that every story needs to be told and even the most simple word combinations can create a beautiful tale.Immersed with hope, sadness, confidence and relief SLICES OF NIGHT is proving to be a great combination of emotion, authors and characters and will only prove to grow each author's fanbase.I'm so grateful that Deb Carlin planted the seed, supported these authors and created this book to be what it is today as it made for a quick read, refreshed my love for Erica Spindler and introduced me to the writings of J.T. Ellison and Alex Kava!A must read! And, if any of you ladies are reading this - I'll be more than happy to add a 1/4 to your next collaboration! ;)Thanks for reading,Sarah Butlandauthor of Sending You Sammy, Brain Tales - Volume One and Arm Farm

Like the crossover book!
I enjoyed the book. I've read only Alex Kava in the past, but now I'll probably read the other two authors. I really liked the crossover aspect of the book, and would like to have had the three have some face-to-face working time on the case.

Great rainy Day Read
This is a great rainy day read. 3 authors, 3 stories, 1 killer. Erica Spindler, (my all time favorite author!) begins in book 1 with Stacy Killian, See Jane Die and Killer takes All. She has her own personal trauma to deal with when a killer takes the life a young new mother. But, where's the baby? As the hours grow shorter in looking for the killer, time is even shorter to find the missing baby. Killian acts on instinct and rather than head the search to find the killer, sets out to find the baby ... Will she be in time?J.T. Ellison, author of All The Pretty Girls, picks up where Spindler ends. The killer is at it again, only this time he goes off course and kills a prominent surgeon, one who knows who he really is. When he kills the only daughter of a prominent family, things start to unravel. Will he escape his mistake? Finally, we have Alexa Kava, A Perfect Evil. This time he shows up in a small town in Nebraska. Maggie O'Dell, a highly respected FBI profiler is called in to lend a hand. Nick Morelli was a small town sheriff now working security when a beloved member of the community is found murdered. Would O'Dell and Morelli be able to capture the killer or will he once again slip under the radar and move to another city?Keep in mind, this is a short story compilation from in my opinion, 3 of the greatest authors I have read. I found the flow easy to follow and the characters we have come to know and love race against the clock to keep more homeless people from being killed. Each lends their own view to the 1 killer and Alex Kava brings it home neatly.A good read for a cold rainy day!

Terrible Ending
This book felt as though vthey rushed to put it together. Aside from the 3 typos I found, the plot was a good concept, but it felt as though each author had unfinished business. They didn't do a good job of tying it up in the end. Sorry to say this one fell flat for me.

Engrossing
Normally I don't read a book with several authors but this one had 2 of my favorite. I'm glad I read it! Each writer flowed together and was difficult to know it was 3 writers. This was a great story and would've loved to read more.

Triple thrilling for a triple threat
in Slices of Night from best-selling authors Erica Spindler, JT Ellison, and Alex Kava, they come together in a thrilling novella that would shock and scintillate you with their best-selling leads. It all started out in New Orleans, when NOPD Detective Stacy Killian was first on the scene of a killer who killed two homeless people, one of them a teen mother. Stacy also dealt with her miscarriage, when this mini case hit close to him. Then the killer headed over to Nashville, Tennessee, when he also made honed in on two targets, one of them close to him who knew his identity. For Taylor Jackson, newly engaged to FBI Profiler John Baldwin, she discovered the same kills there and tracked him down with CODIS for his past kills. Finally, it ended in Kansas City, Missouri and Omaha, Nebraska, when FBI Profiler Maggie O'Dell tied the trio of cases together, while she recovered from her own injuries from the past case. Three times the thrills in one whopping thriller novella.

Quick read ... leaves you wanting more!!
Interesting concept ... each of the three writers wrote about one aspect of the story: Spindler the beginning, using her characters and locale (Detective Stacy Killian in New Orleans); Ellison the middle, with LT Jackson with the Nashville PD, and Kava the ending, again using her familar characters and familiar locale, Maggie O'Dell in Omaha. The story is about a serial killer who is a traveling salesman and targets the unforgotten, homeless folks as his victims. The travelling serial killer allowed the concept to work very well and was not disjointed in any way. Kudos to these three authors ... they successfully pulled off blending each of their invidual talents to come up with a very nice read.

WHAT FUN!
What a fun idea! Take three female mystery/thriller writers and get them to each write a section of a book. Each writer uses her own detectives from her series and together they solve a crime all over the country. This was a fascinating read and so much fun! Each time I came to the end of one writer's section, I wanted it to go on and on! I read the whole thing in a few very enjoyable hours!I do believe I may have found 2 new authors. The third is one of my faves already.

im in heaven!
what could be better than 3 of my favorite authors getting together and writing a book? the fact that those authors wrote about my 3 favorite characters ever! Slices of night begins in New Orleans with Erica Spindlers character Stacy Killian (from see jayne die and killer takes all) on the trail of a serial killer. Then we move onto Nashville where JT Ellisons Taylor Jackson takes over the story and finally to Washington where Alex Kava,s FBI profiler Maggie O,Dell brings the story to a close. the story is packed full of drama and suspense. It flows effortless from one author to the next. Fingers crossed for another collaboration from these 3 authors soon!!

I love JT Ellison and Alex Kava
I love JT Ellison and Alex Kava, and I am not familiar with Erica Spindler but found the format interesting but lacking depth.

Not a true Kava
No bad but it lacked the usual suspense of Alex Cava books and the writing was not just as good . Have to say it was still quite a good read if it was a bit short ,
