Quite an unusual design for a de-shedding tool, but still rather effective. Used on our two cats who have quite thick coats and managed to comb out a fair amount of loose fur, with both cats seemingly enjoying it too. I suggest this style of comb is more suited to medium to long haired animals, due to the depth of the combs and blades - if your animal is short-haired, you will probably see better results from a de-shedding tool with shorter combs / teeth.

Pros:* Most days the cat (shorthair) enjoys the scratchy massage with this raking comb. He lies on the table and purrs.* The comb gets out a lot more hairs than an ordinary pet brush.* With less hair for the cat to lick up and swallow, there have been almost no more hairballs.* Strong and sturdy construction.* The tapered hooks have rounded ends, so they don't cut the cat's skin.Cons:* The instructions are in poor English and lack detail.* Some days the cat doesn't like it.
