Very easy to install and it works as expected.

Easy install-good product
In Texas these always come up as necessary to be installed for a gas fireplace in a home inspection report. Very simple install and easy fix to solve for a safety problem in your home. Only issue would be the horrible instructions provided-very poorly printed and poor quality picture on instruction. However, pretty self explanatory so was able to install without any issues.

I DIY'ed it and it wasn't too bad. The attaching was easy
Well, not something you think about needing, but we bought a new house and the gas fireplace didn't have one. So, I DIY'ed it and it wasn't too bad. The attaching was easy, sticking my arm in a black hole of whatever was the scary part:)

Got the job done for a great price. It saved me over $200 compared to having a chimney sweep install

Holds the damper open a little bit so gas won't fill the room if I should ever turn the gas burner on.
