Lands' EndWomen's Tall Waterproof Hooded Packable Raincoat

Waterproof, lightweight, roomie enough for layers (I fit a hoodie AND a down jacket underneath), self-packing for travel, a gorgeous navy/royal blue color, drawstring elastic for a feminine fit. Get it.

I had a raincoat/spring/winter coat from another old-time catalog company that I wore for over 20 years and it wore out although I probably could have gotten away with it. I wore it so long that they changed the style of it! I searched and searched until I found this jacket on Lands End. I thought I had seen it here at Amazon for less money than their own sale price and came back and bought it from you folks. naturally. I bought it in the navy and so far it has worked out very well. It's very well made and fits me well. If I weren't a very short woman, I would find it too short but the length if fine for me, So far, it's worked as a jacket in light rain and also a jacket for a day when you need something light over a long sleeved jersey just to run into a store. I wore my other coat for so long that most people don't even notice I'm wearing a new jacket! I recommend it for shorter women who want a coat that covers their backside.

This is the perfect lightweight rain jacket for travel. First, the range of sizes - why can't everyone make Petites? Second, the fit is perfect - plenty wide to wear a heavier sweater underneath if needed, yet an adjustable waist you can cinch in when you don't need something bulky under. Third, it packs SMALL, into its own pocket, so no little sack to loose. Finally, there are lots of details...the hood tightens around the face to protect from wind, the pockets are zippered so you don't loose things, and the cuffs have elastic so they fit well and protect from rain. Very pleased.

I wanted a rain jacket that could be dressed up or down, lightweight and packable. Nice fabric. Two zippered pockets which were great for carrying phone and or sunglasses. Easy for traveling. And the sleeves were not too long.Anticipating rain on my trip...no rain so I can't report on it's central function.

There’s several good things to say about this rain jacket and one negative. On the plus side: it’s a great length for keeping your clothes dry if it’s really raining. The hood has a bill which can keep rain off your face & eyeglasses! There are bungee cords to adjust the fit of the hood and the waistline. The two zipper pockets are a decent size to hold stuff. Here’s the one annoying negative feature which caused me to downgrade from 5 to only 4 stars: supposedly this jacket is packable into one of the side pockets. Well, the pocket is really too small to accommodate the jacket easily without struggling to make it fit and I found it impossible to zip it closed and I was afraid of destroying the zipper trying to force it. The sensible thing would have been to design the pockets just a little larger. I would recommend this jacket only if packability is not a big concern.

The mesh lining makes this an ideal light jacket. I have worn it in the rain and it was perfect. The hood gives the right amount of coverage aver the face. Large zippered pockets. I like that the back is slightly longer than the front. Overall it was exactly what I was shopping for.
