Great for centering router base plate with router bit.
Used it to center new, larger base plate on my router. Easy process with this tool.

Cone is too large for 1/4" shank Makita routers
This works great, but I had to make a smaller cone for my 1/4" shank Makita router.

Really helps center a new baseplate.
The centering pin and cone fit my old Black and Decker 7615 router perfectly and helped me locate new holes in a new baseplate.

Runout isn't quite right?
In one direction, I had very little runout, but in the other direction there was excessive runout (double-checked my collet). Not sure why that would be. My bits don't have that much runout, so this tool seemed to have more runout than my bits.

It's cheap and does what it is supposed to. Put the 1/4 in diameter shaft in your 1/4 in collet and then attach your base loosely. then push the cone down on the shaft and center the base to the router. once centered install and tighten down the base screws. for what this tool does the cheaper the better because you probably don't take your base off very often.
