San Diego Hat Co.mens Men's Raffia Straw Sun Hat

I live in Phoenix, AZ, am older, and want to protect my face and neck from too much sun when I'm working in my yard. This hat is very attractive and appears to be well made. It was a little more expensive than some of the other hats on Amazon, but this hat is definitely worth the extra $. It is only slightly large, but it's better to have a hat that's little big (you can always wear a bandana on your head) than one that is too small. Very happy I bought this hat!!

The first time I removed this hat from my head, some of the woven mesh material on the top (where I squeezed/grabbed with my hand) broke. It seemed way to brittle to have to be that gentle with it. Otherwise the hat is wonderful, comfortable, not too hot, the chin string/strap is comfortable enough when cinched up under my chin. I just hope it will last long enough given it already started to fall apart the first time I wore it.

Photo is my first hat that is STILL in use. Bought second hat to not look crazy.I’ve had two of these hats. One last summer, the current, I bought a couple of weeks ago.Last summer, I let my hat hang in a tree, where it’s always windy, I carried things in it.. My speaker, cool rocks, harvest, you name it. It did pretty well seeing the abuse it took. It made it through the beach trip and farm life. one whole Texas summer later, it was cracked, misshapen, and then our dog ripped the edge/seam off. It still held up well for having lost all integrity on one side. I still have shade! (See photo)The only downside of this hat is once you crush/mis-shape it, it starts to crack and fall apart, dropping pieces.Long story short, I bought the same hat again, and I keep it hung up (inside) when I’m not using it. It’s big, breathable, cool, and is the best shade hat I’ve ever had!Wear a bandana inside to catch sweat and create a better fit.

I have not used it outside, but so far the hat feels sturdy and provides great protection from the sun. I wish there was more air circulation on top, but other than that pretty satisfied.

Does it’s job well, priced right, exactly as expected.

Got this hat due to staying in the sun for extended hours and just as it arrived and got unpacked I noticed damage, this is a very fragile hat more for decoration but will definitely not last if you plan on using it. Going from the box straight to the trash.

I like how it keeps the sun off my neck, face and shaded my eyes

This is a high quality hat but, it's too big for my head and I've got fair sized pumpkin up there. I may not have seen the size options or there might not have been any. I'll shop more carefully next time and would use San Diego Hat company again so long as they have sizes I can look through.

Great sun hat. Very wide brim casts shadow over face and half of my upper chest. It's light and doesn't make me feel extra hot. Would buy again for sure.

There were MANY holes and bends in this product when it was dropped off. Luckily I was using it for a halloween costume, and therefore did not really care- but if you like this, as an actual hat be aware- DAMAGED!!!
