This neoprene (synthetic rubber) cover for my MacBook is a very simple solution just right for my purposes. I didn't know it was out there, but when we searched online it was one of the first things we found.I've been hunting off on on for a cover for some months, and assumed the choice was between fairly bulky things that you could carry on your shoulder with a strap, and specialist top of thge range designer ware.I went as far as to buy one in denim, not me at all, for three times times the price of this, then took it back unused because it was tight and tricky to get my MacBook into it. Another search in a major high street name shop drew a similar blank. My wife reminded me that all I needed was something very simple that would cover the MacBook so I could put it in the special padded compartment in my backpack, or carry it in hand into meetings. She found this online, alongside three of four similar looking ones. It arrived 36 hours later. It's plain and black, with a zip exactly in the middle that opens on the curve of the spine along which it folds open. There are no special pockets or partitions, just four simple bits of elastic in the corners to secure the computer and some beading inside the zip for a little extra protection. The computer fits snugly and not too tightly. and that's it. Put computer in, zip up and off you go.It feels like wet-suit material. It's easily robust enough to protect from scratches, and (I haven't tested it though) to keep it intact when set it down quite heavily. (You want Fort Knox protection-you pay for it.) I like this no-nonsense simplicity. No-frills, no fuss, light - and no manufacturer's logo. Sorted.

This case is slightly bigger than a 13" MacBook Pro, but it's close enough to use this as a basic protective sleeve. There are elastic straps on the inside which I believe are intended for use to 'attach' the case to your laptop (you would hook the top and bottom around the outer corners of your laptop). However, this seems like a bad idea - as it provides no room for ventilation.The case is quite thin, so protection against shock would be minimal. However, I mostly wanted this sleeve to protect it from scratches and from other items in my bag - for which this item is more than adequate. It would've been nice if the case was a bit thicker, but for the price - I really can't complain.

I'll add to what most have said here. It's a great product for keeping your machine dust free and protected from spills when not in use, so it does the job in that regard.However, it was clearely not designed to hold anything else, other than the laptop, so you have to have your power adapter stored in a drawer or somewhere else (hello design flaw alert!)And, of course, if you are on the move, you need a lappy case to house both power unit and machine (problem is my HP lappy has a 13.3 inch screen and they don't manufacture cases to that size, so you have to go much bigger).I did not notice any undue smells when I first got the item (noted a previous reviewer commented on a plastic type smell).

The nice thing with this cover is its lack of branding, so it doesnt scream out "Nick me!". I also liked the elastic corner retainers that let you leave it attached to your lappy/mac while in use, although they dont fit too well with a macbook pro (too slim I guess).In terms of if being water or shock resistant, I'd suggest that would need at least a layer of neoprene around the edges and under the zip.So all in all, its pretty simple.

I wanted extra protection for my 13-inch Macbook Pro as the satchel I carry it in was thick but slightly too large - I also wanted to be able to use it on trains without fear of bumps wrecking the Hard Drive. This seemed the perfect solution, and it is! Maybe not the thicket bag in the world but it more than fulfills its write-up and it dampens any light movement and fits perfectly! Also, it doesn't seem to effect the cpu temperature at all which is good as overheating is the no.1 killer of laptops. Delivery was fast and very well packaged, and I use it everyday to great effect. Havn't yet tested the water-proofing but would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to look after their Mac or similar 13-inch notebook!

The Product is acceptable and well made. My only complaints would be that it is a little bit expensive for what you get (a bit of material and a zip), and I think the material could be quite a bit thicker. Overall i am happy with my purchase.

As the title states. This case is extremely good considering it's price point.Fits my macbook pro well and will protect it from scuffs and scratches. It is not the most padded of cases but hopefully will not drop it to test its shock protection.It seems to be well made with good quality zips and has four elasticated straps to hold the laptop in place.Whether it will last the test of time I cant say as I have only recently received it however I have no reason to beleive that it will not.A very good case at a great price what's not to like.

cheap but functional.. protects against scratches and minor bumps.. doubt it would help if you decked your mackbook much. not sure about being very water resistant. wouldn't go diving with it
