Excellent safety stands for solo workouts at home
Anyone who has worked out solo at home doing things like bench presses quickly realizes how dangerous it can be without the proper safety equipment. If you're unable to re-rack the weight, you can really get yourself into big trouble. I don't have the luxury of having a spotter, nor do I have the space for a big power cage with everything built in, so these safety stands were the perfect solution for me.I have them paired with the Squat Rack H.D. Adjustable Rack, which I use for squats, presses and other things, and the Universal Five-Position Weight Bench. It's an ideal setup for me.Due to space considerations and the need to put things away after my workout, I needed separate pieces of equipment that I can easily tuck away instead of one massive piece of equipment that permanently occupies a large space. One nice thing is that the safety stands both fit within the footprint of the aforementioned squat rack for storage, so they take no additional floor space when not in use. When doing bench presses, I'm able to set the safety stand height so that I can set the barbell down just above my chest if need be. No more fear of getting crushed or stuck. The stands are low enough that they don't hinder my motion at all when I bring the barbell down, but high enough that I can set the barbell down on them and then scoot out from under the barbell if need be.Note that these stands are adjustable in two-inch increments. This happens to work well for me, but I could see where someone else might need to fine-tune the adjustment in one-inch increments, which would be a nice feature to have. My stands came with no assembly instructions--either written or as a picture diagram. However, it just requires two bolts on each stand for assembly and it's intuitively obvious how to put them together quickly. All in all, these are very nice, sturdy stands and I would recommend them.

These are Decent
I don't think there are a lot of options out there for safety stands, so it's hard to knock these too much for the price. The only other alternative I found was Ironmind's Pillars of Power, which while very nice, are SUPER expensive. So the value you get with these is very high. What I dislike about them is the 2" adjustments. I might see about getting them drilled to 1" because 2" is either too high, or not high enough for benching, which is what I purchased them for. They do seem pretty sturdy, however. I've loaded and dumped 405 lb on them doing shrugs. I'd be wary of much more out on the ends, because they will tip over at some point. The welding is horrendous; Pretty sure a 4 yo could lay a better bead. But they seem sturdy enough for what I need. There is some versatility with these, I guess, you could do dips on them, shrugs, partial deadlifts standing on a platform, and if you have long arms like me they are low enough to pull a bar off for floor press (my squat/bench stand is too high), might work for log bench, or even log press if you raised them up a bit, and that's all aside from using them as they're intended.Over all, the value and functionality is worth the money, they could just be better made.

No more Darwin Award attempts for me.
After trying to win a Darwin Award by nearly passing out with a 230lb barbel on my neck I decided to buy some extra long safety stands and am glad I chose these. These stands are great for the price. Really long and sturdy, with good height extension upwards. Welds and powdercoat are decent. Speed dropped 180lbs on the outer edge to test it's balance and it didn't tip or anything so am feeling pretty confident it could hold substantially more if lowered with a little control. If you are over 6 feet tall this would probably also be a great way to do rack dead lifts. Being only 5'8" I can't lower the stand enough to get to knee level - the only reason I'm giving it only 4 stars. Would love to have its lowest position be about 2" lower. But as a safety measure during bench presses or squats this is great.Wife is now going to have to find another way to collect that insurance money!

3.5 stars
Good pair of stands, my only gripe is that one of the bolts would not screw in all the way, tried with different bolts of the same size and had the same problem. Basically one of the holes meant for screwing the bolts in were not drilled properly, this results in one of the stands being slightly unstable whereas the other one is very firm. As other people have mentioned, the welding is pretty crude as well. Still, I used it in my set up as a spotter for bench presses and it worked very well. Doesn't slide when the weight it dropped on it and is overall sturdy, even if one still tends to wobble. Just wish the holes were drilled with more precision. Because it works well I give it a 7/10. If everything had fit tightly I would've given it 5 stars without hesitation.

Very sturdy. These are great!
At the beginning I was not sure if I should go with these Pair of Safety Stands or these TDS Safety Stands . I went with these ones, and I am sure I made the right choice. These are cheaper, I like the color of the paint better (not that it really matters) and they are very very sturdy. I am not sure how much they can hold, but I have loaded 400 lb on them and they do not even move. I am pretty sure these will hold 600+ easily. These are perfect spotters to use with this Adjustable Squat Rack for flat, military, incline, decline bench press and squats. Although, I would recommend a full power rack for squats to be safer.I also use these stands with the preacher curl attachment for my Ironmaster Super Bench , the Super Bench also works great with the safety stands and squat rack I talk about in this review.I do recommed these stands a lot if you do not have the space for a power rack, but also get the this Adjustable Squat Rack to get full use of them.BTW you can also do dips with these, but you would need a pair of gloves or some kind of protection for your hands.
