Very interesting reading. Those men had to be tough to fight that Rhodesian war and Mike had it.

This is a book on an excellent subject and a most accomplished operator. Sadly, I would have preferred the images and typeset to have been presented in a higher quality as was done by Strachen series on 1st Recce, Steyn's book on 4th Recce~! This book would be well served to be redone or republished in higher quality with a better photographic layout!

A real page turner, read cover to cover in a day and what an exhilarating read. I've read many a book about the Rhodesian & South African bush wars, this by far ranks amongst the very best. Mike West was a god of war that much is clear, I sleep better knowing there are men like Mike willing to put themselves in harms way time and again so we get to enjoy the peace & freedom they sacrifice both life and limb for.

Very hard up bringing , then semi settles down as he finds his way. Lots of action and very brave people as well as him ,well worth reading.
