Very nice uke for the money, but there is one question.
This is a very nice ukulele by Aiersi. States it is 100% handmade. Fret edges are very smooth, uke is very balanced and sound resonates wonderfully. The sound is loud, clear and crisp. Construction is well done, clean inside, no globs of smeared glue or shavings. Uke feels very smooth and comfortable in your hands, tunes easily, quality strings. Extras included. This is my concern, the uke is a laminated Spalted Maple Body, with that in consideration, a laminate piece of spalted maple is like a fingerprint, no two ukuleles made should really carry the same patterns. Each should has slight to vast differences, if made by sheets of real spalted maple. The pattern on my uke is pretty identical to the one pictured in the ad for the item which makes me wonder what the deal really is but, that would be a question for the manufacturer. Regardless of the price point, I appreciate when uke manufacturers describe there product with 100% accuracy and nothing less. For $49. whether it is real laminate spalted maple or not it is still worth the money. If you take into account that the extras- a gig bag worth about 8-10$ (won't really protect your uke from being crushed just a bag to help you carry it or keep it clean in your home) a few picks and a cleaning cloth ($3), a strap and a toy recorder ($6-8). Say the extras are worth $17-$20 that means the uke itself is about $29. At $49 or $29. this is a very attractive, nice sounding instrument that is definitely one of the best in the "affordable" or "starter" categories. Overall worth the money. Happy Strumming!

Looks and plays nice!
I’m a beginner and this is my first, so take this review as you will.It looks super nice and of high quality. I have friends who has been playing a lot longer than I have and they love mine. For the money, I don’t think it can be beat.

Nice for the price, with some added features, but a production flaw
I actually bought two of these ukes (can't resist spalted wood) and photographed both together to show how different they can look. All in all, these have several features you find on higher end ukuleles, such as the bound fretboard and the inlaid maple headstock logo. The edgebinding looks like an acrylic blend rather than true abalone, but I actually think real shell would have competed with the beauty of the wood. The spalted maple is veneer, as expected, and some of it even had a flame maple shine. The lighter maple binding is also a nice touch, and helps this instrument look unique. The sound is pretty nice and the interior was cleanly assembled. Now for the areas for improvement: You may have noticed it in the photos, but on both ukuleles the backsides are about a quarter inch off center. The body and neck, as well as the bracing inside are straight, and so it seems to be a cosmetic flaw, but I was surprised to find it on both of the ones I ordered. I contacted the seller and the head of the company took the time to apologize for it and said they'd work on improving the quality, which I appreciated. I wish the tuning gears were better but for $50 these ukes are quite nice.
