It works... but not well
tried this out a few times with a couple different guns, get's you close up close... like very close... 15 feet close... I pulled back from across the house and looked wall to wall with my scope to figure out where it was. Looked off and with the scope it was really off looking. Played with it a bit, took it out and looked at it, put it back in, pointed in a different direction... Tried this a few times, kept changing locations. Turned it while in barrel, never pointed in the same place once. Could be me, could be the product. All I know is that using it took longer than just shooting a box of ammo after I took it into a gun smith and paid 10$ just to have them get it on paper for me with their bore sight

Only good as a pointer or cat toy
This bore sighter proved to be totally worthless for MY application. I have a .50 cal high end inline muzzle loader, and the screw on cylindrical piece for .50 cal was loose at the largest setting(the piece flares out as you tighten the screw). Now that being said, this review could be subjective if one were to use a smaller caliber, but due to the cheep plastic bore plugs that flare out as you tighten them, it would be a dice role at best if this sighter were to actually line up with your bore, because the bore plugs(couldn't find an appropriate name for them) are made from THIN flexible plastic, thus consistency is not possible.

Good value
I needed a simple laser sight to get my optics close for my AR-15. My brother got one shaped like a casing but it got stuck in his gun so I went with this style. This is no heavy duty piece of equipment by any stretch. As long as you are gentle it will fit snugly in the barrel of any rifle up to .50cal. Just attach the right piece. I did knock off a star because this part involves some trial and error because the instructions aren't very good and the pieces aren't labeled well.I attached the right piece and it was right in the barrel. I knew it was spot on accurate because my iron sites are perfect and the dot was where it was supposed to be.Within a few minutes I had the red dot sighted on top of the laser. The green setting on the site helped. A few more minutes and the scope was adjusted to at least be on the paper. This is a useful tool that isn't designed to be abused. The laser is plenty bright and probably eats up the batteries, but it isn't a toy. Get it out, get it in the barrel and sight in the gun. If you do that, this product is exactly what you want. It should last you a long, long time and is very reasonably priced.Just be aware you will have to do some tinkering when changing calibers to learn which piece fits.

It feels sturdy and relatively well made, but does not work with flash hiders
This device is more well made than others I have seen and used. It feels sturdy and relatively well made. It does have a bit of wiggle, but if used as directed it should be sufficient to have your firearm on the paper with the first shot once you get to the range. A serious limitation: due to the how the battery compartment is oriented, this device does not work on my rifles that have flash hiders. The diameter of the flash hiders is too large to bottom out the funnel-shaped portion of the laser before the battery compartment hits the barrel. The one significant short-coming, which I feel stupid for not consider before ordering, is it is difficult to use for bore sighting red dot scopes. The red laser point is the same color and nearly the same size of several red dot sights I own.

Crappy bore sight
Crappy bore sight. Gave it a shot and the performance is just the worst. Very dim light, and I used it indoors where it's not bright and low lighting to get clear red dot but no dice. Would never recommend to anyone. I changed the battery out thinking they might have been bad but got same results.....my buddy bought a cheaper bore sight and I though if mine was bad his will be worse. I was wrong, his was super bright and almost looked like mine.....you could not even use this on an air soft gun if you wanted. Will look else where for my AR bore sighting needs. Thanks for the FAIL Okeba. One more thing to add, the package was resealed due to someone sent it back, a part was missing and the small screw driver was shot from the tip....great QA

nice product
The laser bore sight is outstanding quality. Somewhat like camera quality. Mine arrived in perfect condition. It is model th 161. It has a set of plastic collet adaptors to fit most all calibers. I used it on 3 .22's a .243 a 30-30 my 9mm auto with 4" barrel. Even my Crossman pellet pistol. It wouldn't be difficult to make an adaptor for barrels shorter than 4". The diameter of the skinny end is. .175"I like the side button because you can tell which way it is oriented in the barrel. I'm going to buy another one to put away. Some of the collets may have some plastic flashing left untrimmed but its easy to trim them with a razor blade. The instructions claim one hour of battery life but mine have lasted much longer. Batteries cross over to LR 44/357 which are common as dirt. This is a great instrument!

Great little short range bore sighter. Does the job.
I purchased a "Wheeler bore sighter" with the green laser for long range. It works great on most guns. The problem with the wheeler bore sighter is that it will not attach to any magnum air gun with a muzzle break or a barrel with a compensator that is angled.I wanted something cheap that would work for my .25 Caliber air gun and my AR -15. I did not want to spend $150 bucks on another laser sighter. This worked very well. Not only did it get me on the paper it was 1/4" to dead on @ 35 yards. Its very simple to use. Easy to see the dot on a "bright white target." I was amazed at the accuracy. The plastic collimators will not scratch or damage the rifling. $20 bucks you can beat this.
