Since I am growing Tall Bearded Iris, this book was a very good one for me. It gave much information and lovely pictures. Mockingbird Used Books sent the book promptly and it arrived in excellent condition.

Wow, how disappointing. I am a grower/lover of bearded irises and automatically purchase any newly published book on the subject. This book is just set up poorly to read, the varieties depicted are from the author's garden(I assume) are bland, boring, and non representative of some of the finest varieties of bearded irises out there. I really didn't appreciate most of the photography either...a lot of that artsy "looking into the center of the flower" stuff. The only reason it got even two stars is that I appreciate the author's text in some areas and that she's endeavored to create a book to showcase and promote the iris. Unfortunately, the overall effort seems to fall short.

Its probably not for an iris grower, for me it is a source of inspiration for stylized flower drawings. The photographs are excellent quality. I am very satisfied with the print work as well, the colors are the best of what is possible to do with the CMYK color system.

Second-hand copy was fine inside but ex libris & outer cover creased & not worth the £20.00 asked unless you are desperate for a copy of this. Will hope for a new edition.

My sister asked me for this as a Christmas gift. She dotes on the Iris and has many in her garden. She is delighted with this book.
