Smooth medium blend
The coffee was fragrant upon opening it from the packaging, was easy to grind up in my vitamin (whole bean), and made a pleasant cup of coffee. It is a medium roast so not too overpowering, but had a nice smooth, and a bit fruity. I think the price point is a bit inflated, but you can't really get specialty coffee that is also good for much less.

A nice cup of columbian arabica, but pricey
I agree with the reviews I read - it tastes like more of a light roast (and light color) than my typical medium roast arabica coffee. The coffee smell is apparent before opening the bag for some reason, and it definitely has a chocolate odor.I found it to be a very pleasing taste, either black, or with a bit of soy milk as I have been adding as of late. The chocolate and fruitiness comes through either way. It was not acidic and very smooth and silky. I prepared it with a burr grinder and used in a stainless steel k-cup with a paper filter in the Kuerig at 192 degrees.I will continue to try this coffee using a pour over and french press, and maybe even the moka pot, but I doubt the prep will change the flavor or quality of the cup by much. I will update the review if they do.The company data is unknown other than the Amazon page and the website on the package madreselvacol.com is not registered.All-in-all a nice cup of coffee, but pricey at $1.47/ounce and for that I will reduce by a star.

Great cup of Colombian coffee
Item: Colombian Specialty Coffee, Castillo Variety, Cafe Madre Selva, 100% Arabica, Whole bean Coffee, medium roast, Gourmet Coffee, Fresh Coffee, Single Origin, 16 ouncesThis is different from the coffee beans I normally get. This made a nasty cup of coffee for me and I was very pleased with the result. The package shows that this is a medium roast and low acid. I definitely found that to be true. There is a significant chocolate odor from the beans.I ran them through my burr grinder and found they were a little bit statically. Static in the grind is usually a problem I have from beans purchased online; I almost never see it with beans I get from a local roaster.Once brewed and tasted while black, I could pick up both the chocolate and a fruity aroma.I brew using a modified Alton Brown brewing approach, which uses a pinch of a kosher salt to knock off some bitterness. The package is only in Spanish. I’ve included images with a translation. The website on the package (madreselvacol.com) does not exist. Searching for the company online did find references to them on specialty coffee websites, which makes the price here ($21 for 16 ounces) a very good deal for this brand of coffee.

Kind of pricey but a decent coffee
Used these beans to make cold brew because that's typically how I drink my coffee. You can smell the beans even before opening the bag. After grinding coarsely and letting soak overnight, the coffee had a lighter flavor than i was expecting. It was not super acidic and had a kind of fruity flavor which was nice. I was able to drink this without adding any milk or sweetener. I do think it's kind of pricey for what it is though.

It’s not bad
Comes in whole bean so you will need the ability to grind your beans. The packaging is in Spanish so I had to use a translation app to even see what I was getting. The coffee is a medium light roast and definitely has a fruity flavor. It isn’t bad. There are others choices I would pick before this and it’s pricey but overall it’s just not bad.

Smooth and delicious
I have been drinking this coffee for a few days, and its becoming one of my favorite brands. I brew using a Philips 2200. The beans are light brown color and are not oily or sticky compared to other more roasted brands/flavors. Beans grind very well, and I will try them out in my French press and drip machine. Very nice coffee.Flavor is smooth and medium body. No trace of acidity or bitterness. A great everyday coffee.

Mixed feelings ...
I really wanted to love this coffee ... for it's price I kind of expected something special and distinct and wonderful ... I did enjoy the first cup but my feelings were mixed ... to me it's more of a light blend than medium .... there was more of a fruit note than coffee - perhaps that should have been the other way around ... again ... it's a good beverage ...just not what I want in my morning cup ... maybe it's better suited to an afternoon refreshment ... It was also unusual that I smelled the coffee before the bag was opened ... I don't think I've ever experienced that before ... when you walk the supermarket isle you don't really smell coffee ... the bag was certainly sealed, so I'm just not sure why that happens with this blend ... so ... I enjoyed the brew ... liked grinding my own beans ... but with this experience and that price just not certain that I'd entertain a thought to reorder or recommend ...
