Speed hiking isn’t about going fast. It’s about experiencing more things. The terrain encountered is more varied – asphalt to trail to stream to stone steps. So, we took the room-for-your-toes comfort, protection, and stability of our iconic women’s hiking boot and gave it a women’s running shoe feel. Breathable mesh sits atop an underfoot cushioning system and ready-for-any-terrain sole, so you can feel comfortable in any condition the day throws at you. The NXIS Speed hiking shoes for women are built off KEEN's traditional wider footwear form. KEEN products are consciously created using PFC-free water repellent (in applicable styles) and leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG)-certified tanneries. KEEN makes shoes to make a difference.

Comfortable!
These are very comfortable and have grippy soles. They are more like sneakers than hiking shoes. Not recommended for rough terrain since the soles are soft and I feel the rocks like in sneakers. The black color is useful for the office and doesn't show dirt as bad as light colors. They are on the wide side, which I need. The sizing is smaller than Keen hiking boots and are true to size.

They’re going to work
I tried Keen shoes once before but the side of the shoe was a bit too high and rubbed on my ankle. Not so with this style of Keen shoe. I have plenty of room for my ankles. I like the wide toe box. I’ve developed a few foot problems that come with age and the extra wiggle room for my toes is a must have. Also the shoes have a bit of a stiff sole which I prefer in a shoe , without being heavy. The sole has ‘lugs’ on it so I think they will provide adequate traction.I have looked at other shoes with wide toe box'sbut most of them look like grandma shoes and even though I’m in that group I’d rather look a little sporty.I walk 4-5 miles every morning and I plan to wear these when it’s not raining or snowing.

Comfortable!
I love these shoes, I live in them! I have neuropathy and my feet often hurt, and in these they don’t. They feel very squishy. The toe box isn’t as wide and roomy as I’ve come to expect from Keen. I wore them immediately out of box, no break-in time required. These were true to size for me, but I probably could have gone up half a size. I’m not sure if thick winter socks would work.

Great overall shoe but maybe not for hiking
I love Keen. It has been my go-to shoe brand for many years. However, the foot bed has changed over time and its not quite as supportive as it used to be. This shoe, while comfortable, is really not the greatest for hiking, at least not technical trails. I'll leave you with the good/great things. The toe box is nice and wide, love the toe protection we've all come to love that is only done by Keen. The shoe holds up really well. Overall, its a really decent shoe for general tromps in the woods but I wouldn't take it with me on anything more than a moderate hike.

Great spring & summer hiker!
I’m a Keen girl. Love my Targhees for fall & winter hiking. Now the NXIS are my fave spring & summer hiker! It really didn’t take long to convince me I had chosen the perfect pair: comfort & fit straight out of the box. Cloth upper for better ventilation and wide toe box so my feet don’t sweat as much. Great grippy sole keeps me from slipping on mossy rocks when I’m creek hopping. Dry quickly after slogging through muddy spots on trail. Swapping these out with another pair provides greater durability—may even make it through fall mud season! Great value for money spent!

I can hike again without pain!
This review comes from the point of view of someone who has neuropathy, so my feet are somewhat numb while also simultaneously being in pain all the time. Every step I take I feel and not in a good way. The part of my feet that is most bothered by the way the majority of hikers are designed are my toes. Traditional hikers (most shoes in fact) are designed contrary to how our feet naturally are, the toe box is usually designed so that our toes end up being squeezed together. I recently found that wide tow box shoes are a lifesaver for me. The problem is that most wide-toe box shoes (not wide shoes, just the toe box, the heel is standard width) are barefoot style. Barefoot style is fine for work or walking around town but I still wanted a hiker with a bit more protection underfoot. And in came Keen! These shoes make me happy, I can hike again with minimal pain (for me that is a HUGE improvement) while still getting the support and the protection underfoot that I need for scrambling around on rocks and other uneven surfaces. They are also so comfortable right out of the box. They look good on too :).

Perfect for me
This shoe is exactly what I wanted, a quality running shoe and a Keen all in one. Comfortable from the first wear. I love the colour. Very pleased.I did find they run a little on the small size so if you’re close to a full size, choose up. Eg I’m typically a 6-1/2, I got a 7 and am glad I did.

Wonderful! Walking on air!
These are so light Conversation and yet so supportive! I’ve got really difficult feet – Lots of shoes rub, especially when I’m walking distances. But these are just delicious to walk in. The grip is really good off road but a little slippy on wet tarmac. Still definitely the best lightweight walking shoes I have bought! Cannot recommend them highly enough.

Another perfect KEEN purchase. OBSESSED!!!
I have the KEEN women's Targhee 3 mid walking boots and LOVE them. I have a wide forefoot and I lost 3 toenails with the narrow toebox in Columbia walking boots. I searched for ages and found KEEN and I started wearing them when the toenails were gone with not a single issue. I walk about 30 miles per week and I wore the boots out after a year. They looked perfect, they never let in water and it was only recently when I was researching KEEN walking shoes for summer that I noticed that I had worn the treads out on the boots. So I bought another pair for winter. These KEEN hiking shoes come with the usual wide toe box - altough not quite as wide as the boots with more of a softened shape, still wide enough for me. But if you have very wide feet this is something to note.I wore them straight out of the box on a 5 mile walk and I didn't have a single issue. They are lightweight in comparison to the boots. Similar weight wise to my ASICS trainers but with much more support, arch support and of course the breathable mesh upper. My feet still get warm in them but not any warmer than in ASICS (which I will never wear again for walking).Highly recommended if you want decent support and not too ugly (unlike the boots!).OBSESSED!

Komfort i wygoda.
Jak każde buty KEEN, przede wszystkim bardzo wygodne. Szukam jednak butów miejskich, bardziej subtelnych.

Light and wide toebox
These are my 2nd pair from Keen , I started off by buying the boots and now I got these ones. My nightmares I was getting as I prepare to walk the camino de santiago are over . Both the pairs have provided me with enough wide toebox for my wide feet. I have had really bad relationship with shoes but with these 2 pairs of Keens , I feel liberated . Thank you !
