Works as advertised if used properly--NO WHITE RESIDUE
I've been using zinc sunscreens for years, because as every aesthetician and dermatologist will tell you, white is best. This is the first sunscreen I have used in that category that absolutely DOES NOT leave a noticeable white film on your skin. Yes it comes out pretty thick, thicker than toothpaste, but all you need to do is take a dollop in your hands and rub your hands together and then apply to desired area of body. When dealing with these types of sunscreens you will need to moisturize first. I prefer my own oil mix that I take with me on every vacation in a spray bottle. My whole family used this sunscreen on our 2 week Cancun vacation we just got back from, on our faces. No one was burned. We applied twice (sometimes three times) during the day (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) and waited the recommended 15 minutes after application. We were also smart and took shade breaks, and wore hats if we were just playing on the beach. If your skin or your family member's skin hasn't had a lot of sun exposure, you'll need to reapply more frequently. The more fair skinned you are, the more time you spend in direct sunlight, the more exposed you are to water play = you'll need to reapply more often, at least every hour and half. We got this sunscreen and True Kids to try them both out. We used True Skin on our bodies and Badger clear on our faces (Badger had a higher SPF and went on clear, so that is why). Badger didn't leave a hint of white behind and no one got burned, and a we spent a lot of time in the ocean and the pool. It also didn't irritate any of our skin and half of us have sensitive skin. I have rosacea and this will be my new go to sun screen. We got two bottles of this for our faces and came home with quite a bit leftover.

I USE THIS FOR NATURAL DEODORANT!!! Amazing!!
While this is advertised as a sunscreen, I actually use it as a natural deodorant and it keeps me odor free for almost 12 hours! I am highly allergic to most chemicals out there including laundry detergent fragrances body washes etc. the harmful toxins in regular deodorant as well. I spent years trying to figure out the deodorant situation and I went from regular deodorant to crystal salt deodorant only to find out that even though they claim it doesn’t have aluminum in it it actually has a natural form of aluminum which still raises your aluminum counts in your blood and is harmful so I had to find another solution and I found the zinc. At first I was using Babo botanical diaper cream which had non-nano zinc oxide and natural ingredients but But the tubes I kept purchasing were smelling moldy then I found this which literally has five ingredients all completely natural no preservatives and I love it! It’s thick and you just rub it into your armpits and Dab with a paper towel after to absorb the oils and Voila, you have a completely natural non-toxic very very effective deodorant!

Sunscreen with a workout
I choose to buy this because of the EWG's rating for how environmentally friendly it is, safe the ingredients are and how well the uva/uvb balance is from protecting the skin. The sunscreen is a little tough to get out. The consistency is almost like an extremely thick honey so apply some elbow grease to squeeze it out! It has a clay kind of scent. If you're not a fan of white casting sun screen then be sure to avoid! It does the job though. There's probably better alternatives considering the price for the small amount for the bottle.

Quality Sunscreen
You wouldn’t believe how much time I have spent researching and trying to find a sunscreen with clean ingredients, minimal white caste, and at a decent price! But I think I’ve found it!I love the simplicity of the ingredients and the fact that any slight white caste fades within minutes (but I’m also very fair toned). It is VERY THICK but if you just rub it between your hands before applying, it’s a bit easier to apply and a little goes a long way!It does feel a bit heavy on the skin even after it’s been on for a while, leaves a slight shine/glow, and makes my skin very soft. None of this bothers me because I have dry skin but someone with more oily skin may not appreciate that. As long as the price doesn’t increase, I’ll be back for more when I run out!EDIT: I still enjoy this sunscreen. However, I have decided that it is indeed too heavy/greasy to be used on my face as a daily sunscreen (even with a dry skin-type). I now only use this sunscreen to protect my tattoos and it does the job well.

Perfect for the Jamaican Sun!
I have very light skin that is susceptible to burning in the sun on the east coast of the US, so when I went to Jamaica for 6 days I knew I needed something super strong so I wasn’t miserable… and with regular application of this stuff and some breaks under an umbrella throughout the day, I managed to gain some color without getting burnt except a little on my chest the first day (very minor burning though!) I was skeptical about it not being thick and leave white behind, but it didn’t. Was perfect! I will say the bottle is small. I used over half of it over those 6 days (applied several times throughout each day to my whole body- 5’3 tall around 160 lbs and wore a one piece) so I suggest buying 2 bottles if your around my size or larger in stature for longer vacations. Can’t wait to use white-mess free with my daughter this summer!

Good zinc oxide protection without the "lifeguard" bright white look
I chose this because the brand was well-reviewed by Consumer Reports (a similar but not identical product; I wanted the "sport" rather than "active," because I wanted longer water protection). No physical-layer sunscreen is quite as effective as the best chemical ones, but I needed something that would not make my eyes burn and would be safer for reefs than the chemical concoctions. I just tried it once, haven't really put it to the test with a strong sun, but I found it thick, yet easy to spread, and with gentle rubbing did almost disappear visually (but leaving a slight white tint, which seemed to fade away after drying completely). Certainly not the classic "white paint" look of traditional zinc oxide. It does leave a distinctive feel, a bit sticky, on the skin. But it is not greasy, and feels moisturizing. You get the feeling that it is probably reasonably good for the skin. I wear SPF shirts and even leggings when in the water or on the beach for a long time, so the main focus of this use is face, neck, hands and feet. I think it will work for me.
