Following the success of their critically acclaimed 2016 album Fusion , The Hawklords hit the road in 2017 with a new studio album, entitled SIX. Described by the band as A study in dystopia and the dark spaces of the mind, it features former key Hawkwind members Harvey Bainbridge and Jerry Richards, with Dave Pearce (from British psyche-rock band The Bevis Frond) alongside newest band member, Tom Ashurst. Jerry Richards (guitarist): This is an album about people and places. Some who find themselves in a world of pain and then sometimes in a world of beauty. This record is quite dark in places, yet it reaches for the light, elsewhere. Hawk fans will love it: a familiar sound exploring the uncharted territory of the mind. Mind-blowing? Maybe..

Hawklords - recommend.
Impressed. Most tracks are very good. With Hawklords/Hawkwind you're always going to get one or two 'not so good' uns - bit like watching your favourite football team, some days are a bit grim but you keep going back for more!

More Hawkwind than Hawkwind
Another fantastic album more Hawkwind than Hawkwind. It is so great Hawklords are recording new music rather than being a Hawkwind covers band. It is great I can enjoy both bands side by side. Keep up the good work.

Decent album.
Just listened to this album for the first time, the opening track 'Ghost In My Machine' sounds very like Hawkwind's 'Spirit Of The Age', it has a nice feel and some good keyboard sounds from Harvey Bainbridge. 'Mind Crime' is catchy, but it's a little bit meh to be honest. Jerry Richards sings on the first few tracks and he has a decent voice but I prefer Harvey Bainbridge's vocals, especially on the tracks Nightside (which uses a poem from Hawkwind's 1979 tour programme) and 'Whisperer's Downfall' which sounds like an outtake from The Church Of Hawkwind album. The rhythm section is tight throughout the album and Jerry Richards plays some nice lead guitar, but Harvey Bainbridge gets the man of the match from me, especially seeing as he is the only member of the band who was in the original Hawklords line-up back in 1978. The album is also well produced unlike recent albums by a band with a similar Hawkname. I like the fact that this band records an album and tours every year, playing to quite small audiences but they keep going, so fair play to them. Do they miss Ron Tree on this album? not really is the surprising answer, but they will certainly miss him on the upcoming tour as he has a great stage presence.

The album is growing on my every time i play it.
Not quite as good as the last album, I like "Ghost In My Machine" and Los Cavatina the best the latter being a simple bass riff that plods along and lead guitar and synth battle it out with all manner of sounds in the background, the album is growing on my every time i play it. I tend to agree with the opinion that say Hawklords are putting out better albums than Hawkwind.Production is good too.
