3 stories of belle as a captive in the castle. Only die hard lovers will finish watching all 3, I gave up during the 2nd story as my young one was getting bored......

Gift for daughter who is on a mission to get every Disney DVD so I helped by buying her over 60 for christmas , it is Disney they do not make bad movies they are all great

This dvd contains 3 shorts which are not that bad but not that good either.This is NOT a must-have dvd, buy it only if you want to complete your Beauty and the Beast dvd collection or you are a Disney collector.The title of the first story is "The Perfect Word." In this story the Beast and Belle disagree and there is a copious amount of rudeness and insensitivity all around. The story heaps on the need for each of the characters to forgive each other, which I found distracting. The story made the point early and was relentless in setting up the need for people to apologize and forgive.The second story is "Fifi's Folly." This time Fifi, Lumiere's girlfriend, is upset with Lumiere because she thinks that Belle is trying to steal Lumiere away. Fifi acts meanly and tries to sabotage the evening that she thinks Belle and Lumiere are going to have. Of course, the evening is for Fifi and Lumiere and the plan predictably backfires. Once again the story was heavy-handed because the point was made early in the short, but the point was continually ground in until the final moments of the short.The final story is "Broken Wing," which I think is charming in some ways. Belle rescues a small bird with a broken wing. The Beast first wants to throw the bird out and then he wants to cage the bird. I was annoyed that the Beast's behavior was so awful and I believe that some younger children might find the Beast to be terrifying in some places, particularly as the Beast seemed prepared to hurt the bird. However, the bird was nicely animated and Belle tried her best to get the Beast to be kind. This story has a nice ending if you can reach it through the Beast's heavy-handed and over-the-top behavior.The dust grains on the feature are too often and too bad for a DVD SPECIAL EDITION and Belle looks disfigured sometimes due to a lack of continuity in her animation.It is annoying that the price of this dvd is so high for the value received.Buy better Disney movies, don't waste your money on this!

Not the original beauty and the Beast

Being a fan of all things Disney and with Beauty and the Beast being an all time favourite, I thought I should complete the collection with this DVD.What a let down.The film is separated into several stories (which are all terribly written and uninteresting) and it is more like a TV show spin off, with the stories all clumped together to make a film. The graphics are terrible and they haven't even used the original voices!Do not buy if you liked the original Beauty and the Beast - you will be very disappointed!!

Received dvd in good time, packaged well. However, on opening dvd my daughter was in tears as it only played with jumpy pictures and blurred pictures (not of true Disney quality).There was no sound at all. Thinking this may be our dvd player we tried it in 4 other devices all with the same outcome. On closer inspection the case and insert were also bogusin my opinion. We have over 200 Disney DVD's and my daughter was so excited when I found this seller with this product to add to her collection - never again - buyer beware - I will always use Disney outlets in future.
