Very engaging
Good characters, great world building, a well-written story, and a villain you can’t wait to see taken out. Overall a good recipe for a book.My only complaint is she never told the king what she did to the evil queen there near the end. Why??? Why??? I was waiting for that to come up! It is so important!

Good
Kailani Dulane and King Raife LightstoneSold into indentured servitude to pay for a debt she took on to save her aunt, Kailani finds herself working as the assistant and food tester for the elven King, Raife Lightstone. His sworn enemy is the human (inhumane) queen that rules Nightfall, and Raife doesn’t want anything to get in the way of his revenge; which is how he and Kailani end up in a fake marriage…This features the second of the four kings to fall for his mate while plotting their revenge against the evil queen.Raife has some serious trust issues, and also some trauma surrounding loving and losing people, so he’s not the kind of man who wants or plans to fall in love.Kailani, on the other hand, is a very loving person, and she quickly finds herself falling for this damaged king. It’s an entertaining read, as we watch the two of them fall hard for each other. This is pretty much a standalone book in the Kings of Avalier world, because the setting and story don’t rely on what happened before BUT, this book will have some mild spoilers for book one. It also introduces the hero of book three, which looks to be intriguing too, and I’m looking forward to reading his story! If you’re a fan of romantasy, or fantasy with a romance, then this is an entertaining and enjoyable read. The steam level is fairly low, and while this story is complete, there are some loose ends to be resolved in the subsequent books in the series.

Another Breathtaking Installment!
In certain series where the author focuses on another connected group it's hard to get as immersed because one wants to know what's going on with the previous characters. As well, sometimes the next book isn't as exciting with great plots. However, Leia Stone does NOT disappoint in any of these areas. I was curious with the way the first book ended if it was going to continue from the knowledge that was already given to us about the Elf King showing up at the Dragon Court already married. It coincided though with the time frames yet led us down an astounding, exciting, and riveting set of events occurring at the Elf Court. She puts her own twist on romantic relationships with magical royalty and it's definitely not in a way where you can predict in some short romance novels how things will happen. Definitely, a new favorite read for me. I was impressed with the editing as well since I can usually pick out mistakes rather quickly and that wasn't an issue either. I was completely wrapped up in this book couldn't put it down and am excited to see what happens next. There wasn't an overload of in depth description of physical romance it was written well with enough just left to the imagination of the reader and the same went for how she wrote the acts of war and violence in my opinion. Kudos to a great Author! If you like a book that you can get completely absorbed into the storyline along with magical beings and romance with an astounding storyline this is a must read!

What a breath of fresh air
There’s so many arranged marriage to the elf king books out there it’s hard to read anymore. But I’m so glad I gave this one a chance. Stone did an amazing job with Lani and Raife and I was HERE for it. Lani was just so fun to read. For once we didn’t have a totally stubborn heroine who landed herself in trouble every two sentences but instead met a well rounded, smart, and open character. What a breath of fresh air! I adored Lani and her good character. She wasn’t afraid to be herself and she just took life as it came. Her love story with Raife was well developed and honest. My only complaint was about Raife, there was a particular time in this book I wanted to reach through my kindle and just strangle the elf (*cough* cabin scene) and I get like he got away with his actions against Lani wayyyy too easily. But then again Lanis character was kind and she handled it much better than I would. So in short READ THIS BOOK 📚 it’ll definitely be worth your time

Absolutely loved!
A ya fantasy about a girl who is brought into slavery for buying outside her means to save her family and the elf king who has a dark past that doesn't allow him to get close to anyone. He buys her sentence and makes her his personal assistant. He has a board of advisors who are making him get married except because of his past he doesn't want to. Faking marriage forced proximity and finding the power within themselves makes for a five star fast paced beginner fantasy book. The second in an interconnected standalone could be read without reading the first however you get more background information about the world by reading in order.

Favorite from this series
This is the one I was waiting for. I really wanted to know more about Raife, we knew he wanted revenge and I just knew his backstory would be dramatic. What made it better was Lani. The way she attracted the ling by her intelligence was inspiring. Lani being the leader of the army at the end against the human queen was also iconic. I think this one was more character driven for me and I enjoyed that. I’ll be waiting to read what’s next to defeat the human queen, every time we learn something about this conflict so I know it will get better.

I really enjoyed it!
It was so infuriating with the back and forth of Raifs moods and mind about Laylani! I wished there would’ve been more to the love making like being explicit about it. All in all it was really good!

The Broken Elf King
Loved the second book in this series! Kept me riveted for the last few days. Work has been extremely full on this week, but I’ve managed a bit of reading on my breaks & before bed also. Looking forward to book 3 now 😊

Second book in the series
Loved it. Bit too short, would loved it if the author took a bit more time and wrote a bigger book

Molto apprezzato

Great
Awesome book! Well written as usual, even though it has been a taaad over the top unnecessarily dramatic at times. It frustrates me if the characters are being stupid about "unsolvable” issues while you scream out the solution 50 pages before they finally get there ;)
