The prevents the feel that you are going to bang on something or scratch up your bottle or the surface you are placing it on. The color match is just right and stays on tight enough that you don't feel like you are going to lose it -- but also is easy enough to remove for cleaning.One drawback: The boot does make it harder to insert and remove the whole bottle into/from a backpack netted pocket. I tend to remove it for that and just toss it into the pack.

I like that the silicon grips the surface when I put the cup down. It protects the edges from getting dinged. Only small issue is that it is a tight fit in my car cup holder. But I just slip it off and set it aside while driving.

My water bottle was always clunking loudly when I set it down so I got this to help with that and also prevent denting on my new bottle. It fits nice and snug and works as it should.

I like this -- it's pleasant to touch, it fits the bottle well, and it does a good job keeping it upright.Unfortunately, when it comes to cupholders, this thing turns what is already a poor fit into an impossible one. So you'll have to either get used to removing it all the time, or to not using cupholders.
