Bag arrived cut
Gave 3 stars just for the fact the bag was cut which invalidates the shelf life. Product will be returned.

For products like this, it is essential to have plastic bags to store excess once you open the main package.
This is also part of my disaster readiness.

This is really good!
This is an excellent product to have on hand. Add a little hot water and in minutes, you've got refried beans! The flavor and texture are spot on. I highly recommend.

Good food, just be careful not to eat too much...
This is very nutritious, easy-to-prepare camping food. Just be warned, it is NOT for daily consumption. Being made of 100% black beans, it will definitely lead to urgent #2 bathroom situations if over-consumed.But if eaten just once every few days or so, it is a healthy, nutritious addition to any camper's meal plan.(as a side note: I can vouch for opened, and resealed bags still being good years later. I had two bags of the breakfast oatmeals, and one of the chipotle bean stew, all of which were about half-consumed, which were afterward left in storage for about two years, then I brought them back out and took them camping again-- and all of them were just as good as new. So these Northwest Fork freeze-dried meals still keep for years even after the factory seal is broken, as long as kept dry.)
