A great looking Book Nook!
A mid level kit as it was the 4th I have assembled so far. Some complexity, but I think a novice could work through building it with determination. My first one built using both a glue gun and Aleene's(I use both regular and clear gel/ which has a thicker consistency). I think that a glue gun gives you more options when assembling these as it can bridge gaps and reinforce joints by building it up in hidden area and provides a stronger final product than a standard craft glue. I use craft glue where flat attaches to flat or a tight joint needs to be glued up. I didn't answer the toy/age related questions as I am an old man of 52, not a kid. Here's all 4 I've built so far, the Japanese village scene was my second kit, the most technical, the smallest and most detailed, I wish I'd had a glue gun then...

Great, but unclear instructions
I really enjoyed making this, but the instructions are very unclear. Many times you’re trying to figure out where a part goes, and the pictures in the manual are so dark that it’s impossible to be sure. The quality of the materials is very good, and the final product is really cool. I plan on building more book books.

Spooky and fun
This was such a neat and fun craft. I enjoyed fitting all the pieces together and watching the story of the piece come together. The lighting was super easy to put together and made the whole project really pop. Some of the wooden pieces were hard to put together but if you add some glue it stays!

Sturdy easy assembly
I really like the printed wood. Everything fit perfectly. Easy assembly. Instructions were a bit dark and hard to read.

Lot of fun, looks great!
Some things in the instructions are obviously translated and not very well, nonetheless it was easy enough to understand. The quality was pretty good and it works well. The button on the front doesn't seem to do anything. Was good for a first try!

Cute kit but needed some modifications
It was fairly easy to put together. Except for the stairs. I glued them together with superglue and then reinforced underneath with a generous about of hot glue. I also recommend getting a dark brown sharpie or wood stain pen. The edges and back of a lot of the pieces need stained or you'll be able to see the joints and edges. The main issue I had were that the one whole side was printed off by about an inch. So I had to rip off the bathroom sink and mirror because it had you glue those to the wall before putting it in place. Also the quality of the printed books. Most of the larger blocks of books were all the same, just reversed. That was disappointing.

Poor instructions
The instructions on this item are awful. Tiny pictures with arrows which doesn’t tell you enough to assemble properly.I’ve done these before and they’ve had decent instructions. This one does not.

Love this book nook!
Loved this book nook, the instructions weren't the best to follow but you can figure it out. The detail is brilliant and the quality of the wood is great.

Intricate and detailed , delicate
Start with opening the box. It looked overwhelming to see all the parts at first. The instructions were well written out and organized, or so it looked. Once I started, I noticed a few instructions seemed a little at a place. Started putting it together and it did recommend some glue for some items that I found that white glue worked the best. Some of the more delicate pieces I tried a super glue to help hold together, but found that the wood absorbed that glue to quickly so white glue seemed to be the best. Still not perfect and some don’t like to stay in place after, but White glue also dries clear so you don’t even notice..Some of the pieces were hard to get out. You have to be very delicate or they could splinter. And some parts don’t line up perfectly so you have to have a little finess to get them to work. This is the part where some of the instructions didn’t make sense there was no way to hold the product up while putting the walls on that you needed space on the bottom to support it. They said to stand it up, but you couldn’t, and you couldn’t lay it down on its side to add some parts. This is what causes the most extra time in assembly, trying to hold and put together so not to damage.Once put together, it is neat looking ,fits on the bookshelf, a little wider than a normal book like lights work, and are dimmable, which is a cool feature. It’s fragile so after placed you won’t want to move it to much. It took me several days to put together, as I had to do other things in between so altogether it was probably about 12 hours worth of work. The next one might go faster cause now I know some techniques to get the pieces apart and get the glue to hold better.

Took my partner between 4-5 hours to build. The end result is amazing though!
The ‘No.9 Secret Castle II Book Nook Kit’ from ‘AONGAN’ is a highly elaborate and delicately intricate miniature model house-interior that’s designed to sit on your bookshelves to provide a wonderful glimpse into a miniature world.First off, this thing requires a huge amount of assembly. We’re talking around 4-5 hours of building time putting together this complex and incredibly fiddly thing.Building it involves popping out the multitude of balsa wood pieces and slotting them together. Using wood glue for this is essential, so make sure you also purchase some good quality wood glue to ensure it’s all held together. The instruction manual that comes with it is excellent. Throughout the manual you have good-sized pictures of each aspect, illustrating clearly what needs doing. The final thing is excellent. There are even a couple of lights inside it, which are powered by 3x AA batteries (which you’ll need to purchase separately). The amount of detail in it is breathtaking. Everywhere you look there’s intricate details to draw your eyes in. Properly quaint and wonderfully elaborate. The set also makes for a great gift for anyone who enjoys intricate model making and the like.

Took a loooong time but worth it!
This was a lot of fun. Took me like 4 hrs just for the books alone. Probably 13-16 hrs complete. Make sure you have glue (super glue worked best for me) and a nail file or sand paper for when attaching all the walls and such. I was half a mm off one particular spot and took me 30 mins of frustration before I thought of just fileing it. lol. I changed up some of the decorations, so doesn't exactly match but I like it! I also didn't glue any of the books or furniture down/together. You may want to cuz the slightest vibe or bump can knock stuff over, but I like the option to rearranging... Plus it took me 4 hrs to put the dang books together! I am not glueing them in place. Overall, really fun and cool to look at. So detailed. Love it!
