Hasten Down The Wind R )

The Linda Ronstadt recordings Hasten Down the Wind are brilliant, on an HD player through TV to headphones, but these particular discs are I suspect so good, thicker grade plate than usual, and Linda's resonant voice so excellent they bounce the DVD player on the modern notebook computer through the same headphones and it crackles like a southern fried chicken. I am keeping them as they are such good dics, see next review and very much wanted to replace my 1982 LPs, all other DVD and CD play correctly on the computer so if you want to use that as your main source this set is not suitable. Pity, but the disc is superb on HD TV through Sennheiser and it is not that modern an HD player. One of the few times I have had a musician writer and backing "resonate me", although I have heard it happened to the Tacoma Narrows, I have had poor recordings enact such before, but there is nothing wrong with these, just be aware on what they will play. I'll guess other people have them play really well on their computers!! Thanks for the discs delivered at superb pace, very good on better equipment and I am not buying a music dedicated £1000 computer just to listen, I will leave that to the musicians and use the DVD player when the TV is not used. Anyway Linda can now add greater power than the Tacoma Narrows flip wind effect to her fame.

Fabulous CD. Nothing to criticize.

This was the first ever, and so far the only, LP I bought solely on the picture on the sleeve, and I'm so glad that I did. It introduced me to the sublime voice of Linda Ronstadt and I have remained a fan ever since. I now have this album on CD so that I can play it in my car-one of my favourite ever albums.

Again Linda done a great mix of tempo with this disc.linda's version of "Rivers of Babylon" is far away from boney m as one can get.the emotion put into the song is riveting to say the least,but that not to say anything against the rest of the tracks on this album.every song is worthy of a mention but it would take too long to describe how good this disc is.

Sublime LP from Linda's early period, Great covers from Karla Bonhof's eponymous LP that may have triggered her rise to fame, they follow the arrangements quite faithfully but have the characteristic Ronstadt delivery. By this time in her career, Linda Ronstadt was getting top draw treatment and the production is perfectly judged and the song choices faultless. No weak tracks at all on tis album.

A classic album showing the full range of Linda's great voice, sadly now silenced through illness.Linda's take on classics such as 'Crazy', plus the self penned "Lo Siento Mi Vida" were the soundtrack to my summer nearly forty years ago, and I think they will be again this summer.
